You’ve heard the urban legend about alligators in the New York sewer system? Well, what about in a park? A four-foot alligator was found in a lake in Prospect Park, located in Brooklyn, New York. A member of the park’s maintenance staff spotted the gator in the lake, which caused park rangers to snap into action to capture and help the poor reptile.  The alligator was pretty lucky it was found when it was, because it is in pretty rough shape. In January, “M3GAN” writer Akela Cooper cruelly teased horror fans by saying there was a much gorier cut of the film. Well, it has been confirmed that a bloodier cut of the killer AI film will be released later this month. On February 15th, a Tesla factory in Buffalo, New York sent out an e-mail informing employees that they could no longer record workplace meetings without all participants’ permission. It also just so happens this plant was in the process of trying to form a union with Tesla Workers United. The next day, Tesla Workers United pointed out this policy violate federal labor law. Also, New York has a one-party consent law to record conversations. Making recording work meetings, without everyone agreeing to it, perfectly legal. Filmmaker JJ Abrams’ company Bad Robot signed a deal with (at the time yet-to-be-launched) HBO Max in 2019. Three shows from this deal- “Overlook,”  “Justice League Dark,” and “Duster”- were announced in 2020. Just this week, it was confirmed all but “Duster” have been scrapped. Little was known for sure about the “Justice League Dark” series, aside from speculation of the characters possibly portrayed in live-action (Zatanna, another John Constatine, etc.). “Overlook” was an offshoot of Stephen King’s “The Shining,” focusing mainly on the story of the Overlook Hotel. The world’s last remaining Blockbuster Video saw a huge spike in sales thanks to their Super Bowl Sunday spot. The best part? They paid a fraction of the price that other advertisers did. A nationally broadcast ad during the Super Bowl will run you roughly $7 million in 2023. Clearly, the little video rental store that could didn’t have the budget for that. Producer/screenwriter Akiva Goldsman confirmed the long-awaited sequel to “I Am Legend” is finally happening! Will Smith will be reprising his role from the 2007 post-apocalyptic action thriller. Rachel Weisz (“Black Widow”) will play identical twins in Amazon Prime’s new mini-series “Dead Ringers.” The six-episode series will be based on David Cronenberg’s 1988 classic psychological thriller of the same name. The original film follows identical twin gynecologists Elliot and Beverly, both played by Jeremy Irons. The two own a successful practice that helps fuel an ever-worsening drug habit. They also have a habit of Elliot sleeping with patients until he loses interest only to hand them off to Beverly (the meeker of the two) since no one can tell them apart. Briana Middleton (“The Tender Bar”) is the first star to be cast in Apple TV+’s upcoming“Metropolis” series. Which comes to us courtesy of “Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail and UCP, where he has an overall deal. While Apple only greenlit the series in March 2022, it’s been in development for Esmail since at least 2016. “Metropolis” the series will be based on director Fritz Lang’s 1927 sci-fi classic, written by Thea Von Harbou. Comedians (and real life BFFs) Amy Poehler and Tina Fey recently announced their first live comedy tour. The Tina Fey & Amy Poehler: Restless Leg Tour will hit four U.S. cities this spring, with tickets going on sale this week.
