Heath Andrews has been a student of pop culture ever since he found himself to be the only student in 3rd grade who regularly watched "Get Smart" on Nick-At-Nite. Ever since then he's been engrossed in way too much media with a growing collection of music, books, comics, TV on DVD box sets, and a video game collection that could rival a brick and mortar store. Since 2016 he's run his own YouTube channel under the moniker of The Critical Android where he livestreams video games and uploads podcasts about pop culture and Frasier.

Convicted felon (on 34 counts) Donald Trump will be retaking the office of the President of the United States of America on January 20th. Ahead of his inauguration, he has been making a number of cabinet announcements. One of them has everyone truly puzzled- appointing “special ambassadors” to Hollywood. “It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” Trump announced on his Truth Social account. “They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much…

This is an incredibly sad day for us here at Nerdbot. Many of us are huge fans of David Lynch, and the news of his passing has left a unique hole in our hearts. If every person and soul is special, then David’s was somehow even more distinctly special in a way that no one else could ever be. These sentiments are echoed by many of those who worked with him, perhaps none so as profoundly as frequent collaborator, Kyle MacLachlan. “David was in tune with the universe and his own imagination on a level that seemed to be the…

There are very few people in the world with a resume like Conan O’Brien. He is one of the most prominent and beloved voices in comedy over the last 30 years and now he’ll have another accolade to add to his growing list. The last several years have not been good for the retail industry. Before the worldwide pandemic, things weren’t looking good for a number of stores. For some, things actually got a bit better during the height of the pandemic when people were staying in and buying things. The outside world opened up and the downward trend that was taking place continued all over again. One of the retail chains that experienced this up and down was Joann, and the fear this time around is they may be down for the count. Joann Stores are largely known for their sales of…

In 2023, the FBI reported Americans had lost a total of $12.5 billion in scams. Those are figures based on what was actually reported. So many scams go unreported, either because someone doesn’t know they’re a victim, or because they’re too ashamed to admit they were scammed. It’s sad, awful, and infuriating that these things happen. Scams are only getting worse too as technological advances in artificial intelligence have allowed criminals to pull more elaborate and realistic schemes. This is in part how a 53-year-old French woman recently lost over $850,000 to a scammer posing as Brad Pitt. We’d like…

The cosmetics of food is a really interesting field when you think about it. How many times have you watched an ad for Subway and known none of the subs ever look that good? They put a lot of work into make food look good in pictures, but there’s also a lot of work that goes into making processed food look the way it does. Or perhaps it would be better to say there are a lot of chemicals that go into making it look the way it does. One of those chemicals, red dye no. 3, is finally getting…

Along with bringing in over $1.3 billion in box office revenue, “Deadpool & Wolverine” also brought a bunch of Deadpool variants from across the multiverse. Enter “Nicepool.” Imagine Deadpool but nicer, and maybe even a bit passive aggressive in that niceness. If you watched the movie and thought maybe Nicepool was a bit “off” in terms of his character, there may be a reason for that. Actor/director Justin Baldoni wants all the documents around the character, because he sure seems positive it was based on him. If you’ve been keeping up with movies and popular culture, you may have heard…

Back in 2019, the legendary tv series “Twin Peaks” was immortalized in a beautiful box set. Twin Peaks: From Z to A was limited to 25,000 copies worldwide. It started as an ABC series, but also encompasses several lore books, stories written by characters and released in real life, a feature film, and an audio collection of Agent Cooper’s (Kyle MacLachlan) tapes. If you’re looking for the main story, you’ll need to…

It’s hard to deny that there is something almost magical about watching a movie you love up on the big screen. It’s even more magical if it’s a film that was before your time but you finally get the chance to see it brought back to theaters. Maybe you have a local theater that shows original prints sometimes. Maybe you attended the re-release of a major franchises like “Lord of the Rings” or “Star Wars.” Or perhaps you’ve been too busy trying to solve the Lament Configuration to care about films. Well, if you’re in the latter group then do…
