Author: Heath Andrews

Heath Andrews has been a student of pop culture ever since he found himself to be the only student in 3rd grade who regularly watched "Get Smart" on Nick-At-Nite. Ever since then he's been engrossed in way too much media with a growing collection of music, books, comics, TV on DVD box sets, and a video game collection that could rival a brick and mortar store. Prior to writing for Nerdbot he's written for Review You, MyAnimeList, and various advertising companies.

When you think of the show “Frasier,” you don’t really think of it as a workplace comedy. Sure, Frasier has a job and spends a lot of time there, but the show is mostly remembered for the bickering with his brother Niles and bungled romantic relationships with women. That being said, Frasier did have a good number of co-workers who had fairly prominent roles on the show. Even though this current revival of “Frasier” is far removed from his old workplace of radio station KACL, this apparently won’t stop some of his old cohorts from appearing in the upcoming second…

“Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?” This immortal line from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” always finds a way to be relevant. Just the other week, a bridesmaid had to remove a fairly large snake from her sister’s wedding party. And last year, homeowners found an infestation of snakes in their new house. Now we’ve got something on our hands that one-ups both of those, a possible attempted murder… by snake in the mail! Earlier this month, 60-year-old truck driver Elijah Bowles picked up a package at the post office in Twentynine Palms, California. It was addressed to…

Without exaggeration, “Reading Rainbow” is one of the most important programs to have been broadcast in the history of television. It succeeded in doing what many school systems were unable to do, get kids interested in reading. Across 24 years and 21 seasons of episodes, host LeVar Burton appeared on living room televisions across the country to introduce audiences of children and parents alike to stories of people and places. Many of these stories were on the written page while others were in live interviews and journeys to other parts of the world. You can learn more about how it…

The “Jurassic Park” franchise has had some huge names in Hollywood come and go through its gates over the last three decades. That roster of names expanded as the films expanded to “Jurassic World,” and ultimately mixed the old and the new casts together. We’re a couple of years removed from the most recent entry, “Jurassic World: Dominion,” and the franchise is back again with another film, another director, and another cast. Gareth Edwards (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “The Creator”) is set to direct what is being called a ‘reboot’ of “Jurassic World.” Scarlett Johansson has been reported…

It’s been a good long while since got to talk about “Dexter.” After the show ended in 2013, there was a lot of divisiveness about the ending. Ultimately it turned out to be a natural lead in to a revival that we got to watch in the tail end of 2021 called, “Dexter: New Blood.” While that seemed to be the definitive conclusion to the franchise, it turned out there was more to tell in the form of Dexter’s early years. The last we heard of the project, “Dexter: Original Sin,” was back in 2023, but now we’ve got a…

There are some companies that have earned themselves an infamous reputation that will forever precede them. Comcast has tales told of their legendarily bad service, gamers know Electronic Arts as a terrible publisher… and then there’s Ticketmaster. Through surcharges, fees, and numerous lawsuits, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who would honestly tell you, “Why yes, I love Ticketmaster.” Turns out the Department of Justice doesn’t seem too fond of them, and have officially filed an antitrust suit. In 2010, Live Nation and Ticketmaster merged to form Live Nation Entertainment. Prior to that, Ticketmaster did not have a…

Let’s just answer the immediate question before we continue. Yes, this did happen in Florida. It’s the only state in the union where you’re going to see a combination of events that lead to a headline like you just read. So that all being said, we’ll dive into the first paragraph of the article where we mention a tangentially related aside like, “Pokémon cards are perhaps more ferociously popular now than when they debuted in America about 25 years ago.” That so much is true, they are, which is perhaps why this bizarrely brazen and stupid theft happened in the…

Rapper and producer Diddy (Sean Combs) has been making headlines recently for some heinous reasons. Accusations of sex trafficking, a video of him attacking his girlfriend, and other things. Not everybody makes enough of an impact in life to where they can get a film made about themselves. If you do reach that point, it means you’ve either done something really well or something horribly wrong. In the case of Donald Trump well, clearly there are people on both sides of that spectrum who would happily advocate for a film about him. As it turns out, one of those films exists and was just shown at the Cannes Film Festival. Following it’s premiere, the filmmakers are now being threatened with a lawsuit by the campaign of a criminal defendant…

Event planning isn’t easy and don’t let anyone tell you it is. It’s so easy for things to go off the rails when you have to try and account for unknown variables. If it’s a public event you can guess how many people will show up but you can always over and under estimate that. Plans can change, attempts at organization can fail, basically anything and everything can potentially go wrong. If you don’t know this for yourself, you can just ask the people at the Las Vegas Dirt Dog restaurant about their Bluey Day event. On May 11th, one…
