This week has been crazy for networks and upfronts. If you missed it, The CW’s bloodbath and NBC’s axe have been pretty brutal. CBS followed suit with their slate of cancellations. Of the five shows getting cut, one is a stand-out in terms of high ratings. “Good Sam,” “How We Roll,” “B Positive,” “United States of Al,” and “Magnum P.I.” have been cancelled. The new iteration of the Tom Selleck classic “Magnum P.I.” will not go past its fourth season. The show has been pulling in consistently strong ratings, with an average viewership of 7.4 million on a Friday night.…

It’s with a heavy heart that we report that Fred Ward, an actor who graced the big and small screen over the course of decades, has passed away. Ward found himself in powerful roles, ranging from John Anglin in “Escape From Alcatraz” to Earl Bassett in “Tremors.” Ward passed away on May 8th, but the news wasn’t publicly shared until May 12th. His last role was in two episodes of “True Detective” in 2015, but he remained consistently active in television and film before that. Arguably his most popular time period though was in the early to mid 90s when…

The cancellation swings hard, swift, and with very little care for your past accomplishments. Such is the case today when NBC announced it was cancelling two of its sophomore comedies, “Kenan” and “Mr. Mayor.” The news comes alongside the cancellation of poorly reviewed freshman drama series, “The Endgame.” But the surprising part of all this comes from how quickly both comedy shows went from being highly viewed, to the least watched shows on broadcast television. The Ted Danson-led comedy “Mr. Mayor” was the second-highest rated comedy on NBC during its freshman year. It also had the pedigree behind it of…

It was a sad day for comic book fans in late April when we reported that The CW was cancelling “Legends of Tomorrow” and “Batwoman.” While the latter was mired in some controversy following the departure of series lead Ruby Rose after season one, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” was a fan favorite. Imagine our surprise when The CW announced 7 additional series cancellations today. Confirmed cancelled series include “Charmed” (the 2018 reboot now on season 4), “The 4400” (2021 reboot), “Naomi,” “Roswell New Mexico” (2019 reboot), “Dynasty” (2017 reboot) and “Legacies.” The upcoming fourth season of “In the Dark” will…

Talk about a sale that turned out to be a bust! People will frequently discuss among friends or in online posts the surprising steals they come across when shopping at Goodwill stores. Heck, last year a Pasta Maker 2000 was found at a thrift store. But that purchase turned out to be a figurative bust, in the sense that it was not worth the money that was paid for it. The same can not be said about a 2018 acquisition from a Texas Goodwill which was a literal bust statue that turned out to be over 2,000 years old. Even…

Looks like things in Oz just got a bit more complicated. It’s almost fitting that a movie steeped in its own legend and issues would have one of its most famous pieces of clothing also surrounded by storied twists and turns. Only a couple of weeks ago, we reported that one of the only remaining complete dresses Judy Garland wore in “The Wizard of Oz” was found in a shoebox, and was headed for auction. Now, there’s a lawsuit seeking to stop the auction from happening. In case you didn’t read the previous article, here’s a quick recap to catch…

It’s a partnership that dates back to 1993 with the release of “FIFA International Soccer.” Twenty-nine years later, that relationship comes to close as game developer and publisher Electronic Arts (EA) will no longer be partnering with FIFA for their yearly soccer games. The upcoming release of “FIFA 2023” will mark the end of the collaboration, with both companies focusing on separate soccer projects. EA announced the news themselves on Tuesday, May 10th. A coy way of making the bad news seem not so bad, the game publisher starts off by discussing how an exciting new era is coming to…

Many a “Star Wars” fan’s heart sank when major changes were made to the Expanded Universe following the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm. For decades, numerous Star Wars novels helped fill the universe beyond what the movies showed us. In particular, there was a golden period from the early ’90s to the early 2000’s where a fantastic number of stories were told. …And yeah, there were some clunkers too. Today, these stories are regarded as the Legends canon, completely distinct from the current continuity. That being said, certain elements have found their way into the current timeline, like the villainous Grand…

Arby’s- they have THE MEATS! They have more than that too, but ‘the meats’ is something they really wanted to emphasize in their commercials. Others would prefer to emphasize some of the other menu samplings, like say, their dessert menu. In particular the Arby’s signature treat- a shake that combines the tastes of Kona coffee, chocolate, and whip cream into what they have dubbed the Jamocha Shake. If you’re a fan of the frosty beverage but want to take that love affair even further, well, Arby’s has just the thing for you: the Jamocha Shake bath bomb. That’s right; in…

In the middle of Upstate New York, it is not an uncommon sight to see cars stopping because a gaggle of Canadian geese strolling across the road. Annoying as it is, at least they tend to move along pretty quick. And, if your vehicle moves slowly enough, they’ll scatter out of the way with no harm done to them. We’ve also discussed watching out for moose on the road in Canada. Oh, and to make sure they don’t lick your vehicle for the salt. But that’s North America. Now imagine you’re in Tanzania, and you have to deal with lions…
