AMC is apparently adapting Remedy Entertainment’s “Alan Wake” game into a live-action series. The news came from Remedy Entertainment Creative Director Sam Lake. Lake has been a writer on nearly every game Remedy has released, dating back to the original “Max Payne.” “Alan Wake” was heavily inspired by David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks,” and is structured in the form of episodes. It was a stunt that went wrong. But at least nobody got hurt! On April 24th, 2022, two pilots attempted to leave their single-pilot aircrafts mid-flight. The idea was to swap planes mid-flight and land them safely. The stunt failed, resulting in one of the planes crashing. The FAA has stepped in to revoke the licenses of both pilots involved. This stunt happened as part of a promotional effort between Red Bull and Hulu, and was live streamed. This week has been crazy for networks and upfronts. If you missed it, The CW’s bloodbath and NBC’s axe have been pretty brutal. CBS followed suit with their slate of cancellations. Of the five shows getting cut, one is a stand-out in terms of high ratings. “Good Sam,” “How We Roll,” “B Positive,” “United States of Al,” and “Magnum P.I.” have been cancelled. It’s with a heavy heart that we report that Fred Ward, an actor who graced the big and small screen over the course of decades, has passed away. Ward found himself in powerful roles, ranging from John Anglin in “Escape From Alcatraz” to Earl Bassett in “Tremors.” Ward passed away on May 8th, but the news wasn’t publicly shared until May 12th. His last role was in two episodes of “True Detective” in 2015, but he remained consistently active in television and film before that. The cancellation swings hard, swift, and with very little care for your past accomplishments. Such is the case today when NBC announced it was cancelling two of its sophomore comedies, “Kenan” and “Mr. Mayor.” The news comes alongside the cancellation of poorly reviewed freshman drama series, “The Endgame.” But the surprising part of all this comes from how quickly both comedy shows went from being highly viewed, to the least watched shows on broadcast television. It’s a partnership that dates back to 1993 with the release of “FIFA International Soccer.” Twenty-nine years later, that relationship comes to close as game developer and publisher Electronic Arts (EA) will no longer be partnering with FIFA for their yearly soccer games.
