“Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” Official Trailer Hits

After all the hype and build up we’ve been seeing for this upcoming biopic, we finally have a trailer for “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.” Our interest in this project was cemented when multi-award winner Jeremy Allen White (“Shameless,” “The Bear“) would play Bruce Springsteen. Not only are those big shoes to fill, but this kind of a role would invariably be compared to others like Jamie Foxx in “Ray,” Joaquin Phoenix in “Walk the Line,” and Timothee Chalamet in “A Complete Unknown.”

From the looks of this trailer, White is not just “Born to Run,” he’s born to play this part.

The trailer starts off as we see Bruce in a car lot, buying a vehicle.Springsteen fans could immediately draw a parallel to one of the songs off of “Nebraska,” “Used Cars.” After all, this film is about the making of the album and the point in Bruce’s life and career that was represented at this critical point in 1982. This is why a large part of the trailer has Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager, Jon Landau explaining why this album needs to be made.

But the real selling point of this trailer is seeing Jeremy Allen White simply owning the role and the voice of “The Boss.” Whether it be his speaking voice or his singing, White absolutely embodies him. We get to hear him singing a bit of the title track from “Nebraska” and “Born to Run” and it is hard to tell that it’s NOT Springsteen doing the singing. This is even more pronounced by the fact that “Nebraska” is a very intimate recording with just Bruce in his home studio. He even notes in the trailer that he wants the recording to sound raw and as if it were just him alone in the room. So when it’s just White with a guitar and a harmonica, his voice isn’t going to be able to hide behind a full band; he has to sound like Bruce, and he does.

The trailer also shows us some clips of Bruce as a child, performing in concert, and just being himself at a period of time where he was self-reflecting and healing. It also shows his manager, Landau, advocating for “Nebraska” not being about hits or marketability, but being about Bruce doing what he needs to do. It looks like the film’s writer and director Scott Cooper (“Crazy Heart“) translated this period of Bruce’s career brilliantly, at least from what we can see here.

“Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” hits theaters on October 24th, 2025.
