Finally something good that we can get out of all this lockdown madness. Excuse me, the “Stay-At-Home” order.
Thanks to the Covid-19 madness the state’s liquor control department had temporarily relaxing some regulations to help restaurants, bars and liquor stores that have been closed down due to the Coronavirus. These new codes will allow bars and restaurants to sell prepackaged liquor and allowing cocktails to be sold as long as they have a lid and are purchased with food.
According to ABC News this is “carefully considered the public’s health, safety, and welfare in providing this relief” and it’s acting on Newsom’s emergency order “to support the alcoholic beverage industry in its efforts to assist California in slowing the spread of the virus while assisting the industry in dealing with the economic challenges it is facing as a result.”
Restaurants with a drive-through can sell booze and craft distillers are permitted to home deliveries of 2.25 liters per customer per day. The only time that booze will not be sold between the times of 2:00 am and 6:00 am. This is great news for businesses who are struggling to keep business. This is also a nice distraction to all the people who are stuck at home.
