The Critical Role Foundation has donated $30k to help residents of Maui from the recent wildfire. The money was donated to the Hawaii Community Fund. Maui has recently suffered sever damage to the western side of the island due to intense wildfires.

Lahaina Destruction | U.S. Civil Air Patrol

The Maui wildfire started in the early hours of August 8th, 2023. No official cause for the fire has been discovered, but high winds from Hurricane Dora aided in the destruction. These wildfires are being called the deadliest natural disaster in Hawaii history. Currently there several fires still burning, the Lahaina fire was last reported at 85% containment. The Upcountry Maui fire is 65% contained and the Pulehu/Kihei fire is 100% contained, but still burning.

The town of Lahaina is all but destroyed by the fires, with hundreds of its residents still missing. Several organizations have donated funds, supplies, and research efforts to locate the missing residents. Sadly, over 100 deaths have been confirmed. These wildfires are reminiscent of the destructive wildfires California has seen, like the 2017 Tubbs fire and 2018 Camp fire.

    Critical Role Foundation

The Critical Role Foundation was created in 2015 with one simple mission: leave the world in a better place than they found it. The non-profit organization partners with other non-profits that hold similar values to theirs. Majority of the donations they receive go towards grants that are issued to their partnered non-profits. 10% of donations are put towards emergency relief fund, and all of those grants are listed on their website.

For anyone who would like to follow the Critical Roll Foundation’s lead and donate to the Maui Strong Fund, you can do so here. If you are interested in supporting the Critical Role Foundation, that information is here.

Thanks to your incredible ongoing support, we’ve donated $30K in emergency relief funds to @HCFHawaii to aid rapid response and recovery efforts in the wake of devastating Maui fires. ❤️
