Taco Bell Teams up with Crocs for Limited-Edition Shoes

With summer just around the corner, Crocs have teamed up with fast food giant Taco Bell on a pair of limited-edition slides. The shoes will be a re-imagining of Crocs’ Mellow Slides, which the company says are its “most comfortable shoes.” This is really saying something when your shoes are known for comfort over fashion.

But this new pair of slides seems to be trying to hit a balance between comfort and style. This iteration of the Mellow Slides comes in Taco Bell’s signature purple and black. With their slogan Live Más (Live More) printed on the two soles, and the retailer’s logo on the top strap.

While this is the first time Taco Bell has worked with Crocs they are no stranger to their own apparel. In 2019 they offered their own line of Halloween costumes. That same year they opened The Bell: A Taco Bell Hotel & Resort in Palm Springs. The hotel offered swimwear, sunglasses, life-sized sauce packet pool floats, and other merchandise. They have also offered their own blanket printed to look like one of the companies wrappers.

While Crocs have embraced their quirky reputation in pop culture with various meta shoes. Like one they did in collaboration with the convenience store 7/11. Or their Peeps-inspired shoes to celebrate spring. “This collaboration delivers on what both of our brands do best, listening to our fans and bringing their ideas to life in fun and unexpected ways,” Heidi Cooley, the chief marketing officer at Crocs, said in a statement. “We know it doesn’t get much better than kicking back in comfort with a Cheesy Gordita Crunch, so pairing our Mellow Slide with Taco Bell is the perfect combo!”

The Taco Bell slides will sell for $60 on the Crocs website. But Taco Bell rewards members who have reached the “Fire” tier can purchase the shoes before the general public on June 20th. An exclusive link to the Crocs website will be emailed to reward members meeting that criteria on that day.

The slides will then go on sale to the general public on June 28th.
