Hey! Only a day late on covering Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans episode 4. Now that I’ve watched it I have some thoughts of what’s going to happen going forward.
There’s a couple options for each tribe that we’ve been considering, here’s the rundown. DON’T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE THIRD EPISODE UNLESS YOU WANT SPOILERS
As a reminder here’s who has been voted off or ejected from the island already.
Kyle Fraser (VATU)– medically evacuated after a likely Achilles injury during a challenge.
Jenna Lewis-Dougherty (CILA)– first player voted out after targeting Cirie Fields.
Savannah Louie (CILA)– voted out in the second episode after Cirie redirected the vote.
Q Burdette (Voted out in episode 3 after a chaotic performance following the tribe swap. His tactic backfired.)
And here’s who has an idol:
Rizo: Possesses the BEBI passed from Genevieve
Ozzy Lusth: Received an idol from Genevieve.
Aubry Bracco: Received a boomerang idol from Christian
Cirie Fields: Possesses an extra vote advantage passed by Ozzy
Going into this we knew that KALO was going to be weakest of the three tribes competing for immunity. We just didn’t know HOW bad they’d do. They did well up until they had to push that boat with the letters to the platform. Somehow as fate would have it they just could not push it hard enough to get it to budge after seemingly getting it stuck. Unfortunately they just kind of sucked. In my mind pulling it back and then pushing it forward may have fixed the issue but they didn’t seem to think of that. And there’s only so much yelling at the TV you can do before you realize they can’t hear you.
Within the tribes there has been a lot of chaos. With most trying to decide who the target is before the challenge. When teams try to decide who goes before winning or losing a challenge, that can mean giant disconnects going into the games. This time for KALO they seemed to have picked Angelina Keeley before going into the challenge. But then of course as things do on the island, it changed a few times ultimately ending with Mike being voted off. Which means I was right! But he was not the easy vote, he was the smart vote.
Zack Brown of the Zack Brown Band was the big prize for the winning team. Since VATU won first place in the challenge they got to go to the sanctuary, eat fish that Zack Brown had personally caught, and listen to him serenade them for a few songs. Dee, who’s on CILA got second place which was disappointing for her since she’s a big fan of him. I’m hoping he reaches out after the season ends and she can get a concert for herself. Or at least complimentary tickets to a Zack Brown Band show.
New Vatu Tribe (Teal)

- Aubry Bracco
- Joe Hunter
- Genevieve Mushaluk
- Benjamin “Coach” Wade
- Chrissy Hofbeck
- Colby Donaldson
- Tiffany Ervin
Easiest Vote for Vatu
Aubry Bracco has a history of flipping situations in her favor, even when she starts on the bottom. If the tribe waits too long, she could easily pull together outsiders and orchestrate a blindside against the current majority. For this reason alone she would be the smartest move strategically to get rid of sooner than later. She is in possession of the Billie Eilish Boomerang idol which we saw this episode, confirming suspicions. She’s probably the easiest vote just based on her threat level if she gets past this and into the merge.
Smartest Vote for Vatu
Genevieve Mushaluk to me would be the smartest only because she’s thinking in like eight different dimensions. She just found the Billie Eilish Boomerang idol which she’s not telling anyone about and she’s sending it to Rizo. Why? Because if she does this and doesn’t tell anyone she can blind side Rizo and get the idol back for herself. That’s a crazy smart strategy but also a very scary and dangerous one in terms of the game. This is something that can definitely change trajectory and place her in a prime position for winning later. Especially if she brings it up during her plea for winning the million dollars.
New Cila Tribe (Orange)

- Charlie Davis
- Dee Valladares
- Rizo Velovic
- Kamilla Karthigesu
- Jonathan Young
- Cirie Fields
- Rick Devens
Easiest Vote for Cila
IF Cila loses the next challenge, and that’s a BIG IF, the easiest vote would be Charlie Davis. While he is likeable that in itself is the problem. He was second place on Survivor 46 which makes his story an underdog one if he were to make it to the finals this game. Sometimes the easiest vote is simply the one that causes the least amount of drama or backlash. If targeting Charlie doesn’t upset multiple alliances or fracture the tribe, players may view him as the safest option to maintain group stability.
Smartest Vote for Cila
Rick Devens who comes back to the game from season 48 has proven to be one of the most cunning players I’ve seen. True to his reputation from Edge of Extinction, he has already begun hatching plans for fake idols and navigating “narrative warfare” alongside his allies. He’s one of the best players because he’s very good at hiding in the shadows while being present with the other players enough that they don’t see his tricks coming. So for the smartest vote for Cila we’re sticking with Devens unless something else happens within the tribe.
Note: Out for Blood
If CILA does lose, Charlie Davis and Rizo are definitely at odds with eachother. Charlie does not like that Rizo voted against his number one in the game and it’s really rubbed him the wrong way. So he may try to turn things against Rizo if they need to vote someone off. And if that happens and Rizo has the idol in his pocket, Genevieve will get it back and secure the idol for herself.
New Kalo Tribe (Magenta)

- Christian Hubicki
- Mike White (Voted Out after trying to target Emily to keep the heat off of Angelina.)
- Emily Flippen
- Ozzy Lusth
- Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick
- Q Burdette (Voted out after a chaotic performance following the tribe swap. His tactic backfired.)
- Angelina Keeley
Easiest Vote for Kalo
With Mike gone now, the easiest vote would be Angelina Keely. Now that the alliance of the David vs. Goliath season has been whittled down Angelina would be the one to go with if you want an easy decision.
Smartest Vote for Kalo
Christian Hubicki is the still the smartest vote for Kalo because he’s a long-term strategic threat. His intelligence, social skills, and ability to think several moves ahead make him the type of player who could quietly take control of the game if he isn’t removed early. Since he tends to fly under the radar and has the ability to create cross team alliances he’d be the smartest vote strategically for Kalo to vote off next. Especially considering the move he pulled to vote Mike out.
