Miramax Shopping the Rights of “Halloween” for Film, TV Projects

With “Halloween Ends” marking the last of David Gordon Green‘s trilogy, Miramax is making future plans for the franchise. Their solution is to shop the rights around Hollywood when their deal with Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures is up. There is currently an understandably massive bidding war going on, with several parties interested in bringing home Michael Meyers.

After witnessing the actual FINAL battle between Michael Meyers and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), everyone wondered what was next for the franchise. Miramax is currently open to both film and television projects, taking offers from studios and streamers. Everything is on the table for Miramax to chew over and decide what is the best next step.

We can only imagine the ideas being pitched to Miramax right now. With the original novelization coming back to print, maybe the lore it holds will be used in the future. It could hold the reason as to how Michael can be brough back to life. All we know is Miramax wants something that can live up to the excitement Gordon Green’s trilogy brought.

Gordon Green’s trilogy added an interesting new continuity to the “Halloween” franchise. He completely axed the awkward sibling connection between Michael and Laurie. Over the course of the trilogy, fans were treated to the final conclusion between the two characters.

With all these new ideas being pitched, we’re sure there’s at least one crossover pitting Michael Meyers against other slashers. All we know for certain is that someway, somehow, Michael Meyers is going to be coming back.
