Every time we think we couldn’t be more excited for Denis Villeneuve‘s upcoming “Dune” reboot, we learn something new. Like today’s news that not only will we be getting a Dolby Atmos Music release of Hans Zimmer‘s score (his first to be released thusly), we’ll be getting THREE. YUP, three different albums of Zimmer’s Arrakis tunes.

“The Dune Sketchbook (Music from the Soundtrack)” will be released on September 3rd.
“The Dune Sketchbook” is comprised of extended musical explorations of the “Dune” film score. It will be released in both Standard and Dolby Atmos Music configurations.
“Dune (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” will be released on September 17th. This will feature the official “Dune” film score. It will also be released in both Standard and Dolby Atmos Music configurations. The book, which you can pre-order on Amazon here, was written by “Dune” Executive Producer Tanya Lapointe, and will reportedly ‘offer unparalleled insight into the film.’ The book is due out October 1st.
If you missed it, last week we were treated to an all new theatrical trailer for the film. You can see our gallery of images from that here. There was also an update on the spinoff tv series, “Dune: The Sisterhood,” which named themselves a new showrunner.
“Dune” is set to release theatrically and on HBO Max October 22nd, 2021.
