We are pretty pleased to share the news that Duncan Jones (filmmaker and all around cool dude) has confirmed that his script for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of 2000 AD’s Rogue Trooper is DONE.

Back in July of 2018, Jones (“Moon,” “Warcraft“) teased that he was working on a comic book project in film-form on his Twitter, and that it had SOMETHING to do with 2000 AD. The publisher is home to several well-known titles, like Judge Dredd, Sinister Dexter, and the thing Jones actually announced- Rogue Trooper.

It’s been awhile since we’ve gotten an update about the project. We had hoped to hear more after the Rebellion purchase of a studio back in November of 2018, which was supposedly to allow the company to pursue the long-awaited Judge Dredd tv series, Mega City One.

The last time we heard anything about Rogue Trooper, was January of 2019, with Jones saying:

Slowly but surely, Rogue is coming together on the page. Trying to keep it fighting fit and fat free. An action-packed taster of the crazy universe that made me fall in love with @2000AD decades ago.

So today’s tweet about the script being done, is pretty darn exciting, and makes us hope a production update isn’t far off.

And no! Rogue Trooper is DONE, and we are VERY happy with it.
Working on something different but equally cool…

….but also WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NEXT, DUNCAN?!

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
