During this time when everyone is supposed to shelter in doors, there’s not a whole lot you can do to interact with others. One family thought to put a sign on their yard so that passersby could have a bit of fun on their journey to or from home. The Koto family from Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, took some inspiration from Monty Python and the “Jurisdiction of Silly Walks” was born.
“You have now entered the jurisdiction of silly walks. Commence silly walking immediately.” Finer print reads: “Follow @Yorkshire_Silly_Walks for highlights. Your walk may be posted! We’re all in this together so let’s have some fun while we can! (Don’t know how to silly walk? Google Monty Python Ministry of Silly Walks for inspiration.)”
To their excitement many who passed were happy to comply with the sign and commenced various silly walks. They were able to film 30 of them (so far) and they’ve put them up on their Instagram and Facebook. Check our favorites down below!
Many of these have dancing puppies or just dogs in general. Which is perfect because dogs are great.
And others show people driving up to the Juridiction of Silly Walks just to participate in the silliness.
As the Jurisdiction of Silly Walks continues to grow hopefully they get noticed by Google. How cool would it be to have that as a destination point on Google Maps? If you want to see more silly walks you can by following them on Instagram or Facebook. Let the silly walks commence!
