Knotts Scary Farm Pokes Fun at Disneyland Fantasmic Fire

Halloween is fast approaching, and all the theme parks are getting kitted out to celebrate. Knotts Scary Farm has been open for less than a week. But already their tongue-in-cheek evening shows are giving us a good laugh. A park visitor captured footage of one of the shows poking fun at Disneyland‘s “Fantasmic!” malfunction recently, in which Maleficent’s dragon prop caught fire. The show itself is DnD-based, a dungeon master announcing the appearance of a fire-breathing dragon for its players to fight.

However, the antagonist of this TTRPG needed to check where he gets his props. As a dragon head peeking over a fence is dramatically lit. Before the head catches fire. Much to the villain’s chagrin, he pointedly shouts “Where’d you guys get this thing from?! Anaheim?!” before trying to figure out what to do about the conflagration. Poking their theme park neighbor in the ribs some more, the sorcerer puts out the fire using magic presented by “Walk Dizzy”. Casting a spell called “The Wonderful World of Water”, complete with chorus, alluding to Disney’s “World of Color” show in California Adventure.

Poking A Little Fun At The Competition

There’s the sound of a flushing toilet as the fire goes out, with the sorcerer cracking a joke about watching the money just circle the drain. It’s a pretty hilarious jab at Disneyland, given the park’s insistence on perfection being one of their core rules. The disaster of Maleficent’s conflagration was a shock to everyone, park and guests alike. And the show itself has been closed for the rest of the summer, with statements that there will be some changes to the show coming in future. Possibly doing away with the Maleficent prop altogether. Which is a bit of a shame given that it’s awesome. But we’ll see. In the meantime, the jokes from Knott’s are all in good fun.
