Hey remember that He-Man film that was supposed to come out eventually? Well we have new information on it finally. Discussingfilm.net has revealed that they’ve learned that Sony’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ film will now be developed and distributed by Netflix. Which makes sense considering Netflix already has an anime by Kevin Smith, another He-Man series which is meant to be a continuation of the original, and She-Ra.
Back in September the Hollywood Reporter said Sony Pictures studio chairman Tom Rothman was “exploring the prospect of getting risk-free cash for the pricey project by making it for Netflix instead.”
Goyer is still attached to produce alongside Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black, Julie Pistor, DeVon Franklin and Kevin Turen. Mattel Films is still in it as well.
Writing the script and directing are the Nee Brothers with Netflix star Noah Centineo still attached as the lead in the film.
Hopefully if they start production soon we will see the final product late 2021/early 2022.
