On the eve of Walking Dead Season 9 premiering; TMZ has learned that Scott Wilson passed away. He played Hershel Greene who was Maggie’s and Beth’s father on the Walking Dead. Hershel Greene was a fictional character in The Walking Dead franchise.
He was the widowed owner of the farm in Georgia and had previous experience in the veterinary fields. He was a devout Christian, with uncompromising morals and a stubborn attitude. Hershel was very protective of his large family despite of his many losses within the family. In both the comics and television series he was initially introduced saving the life of Carl Grimes. After Carl was shot by one of Hershel’s neighbors, he saves Carl’s life he became one of the moral center of the group lead by Rick Grimes. In season 4 of the Walking Dead, Scott’s character of Hershel would have brutal end to his life. When The Governor swings the sword into Hershel’s neck, partially decapitating him with it.
He was going to return to The Walking Dead and reprise his role as Hershel for the show’s 9th season. On October 6, 2018 it was confirmed by Angela Kang at the show’s panel at New York Comic Con. Some other former stars will also make a return to the show. Sonequa Martin-Green who played Sasha and Jon Bernthal who played Shane just name a few.
Scott’s representative, Dominic Mancini said, Scott died of complications from leukemia. Scott was; “a national treasure and a calm voice. He was also an gentle spirit to everyone who he came in contact with him.” We were also told he passed away peacefully and calmly just like his personality.
