When word first hit in the early 2000s that a musical based on “The Wizard of Oz” was coming, a lot of people kinda had the same thought. “We already have that. It’s called ‘The Wiz,’ and it’s great.” But things were slowly revealed about this new take- it would be different, there would be no Dorothy (technically), and it would be a prequel about the Wicked Witch of the West and her former BFF, Glinda. Needless to say, when “Wicked” finally hit the state in 2003, it REALLY took the world by storm. It shattered expectations, and has remained…

This isn’t the first time, nor the second time, we’ve written the words ” Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery returning for new ‘The Boondock Saints’ movie.” Back in 2021, there were rumblings Troy Duffy, creator of the original film and it’s sequel, was in process on a third film. At the time, it was widely reported the film would see the return of Reedus and Flanery. Well, it’s 2024, and that project never happened. Today’s news, however, is that a third film is well and truly being developed, with the original stars set to return. Duffy will not. According to…
Okay we’re not really sure why someone from HBO / MAX decided that ‘dueling’ trailers was a good idea for “House of the Dragon” season 2, but, here we are. A short tease for the trailers, and then the two trailers- Team Green Trailer- Team Black Trailer- Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” hits June 16th, 2024.
Should we start by entering the money cheat code now or what. THIS JUST IN- Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Productions is eyeing yet another generationally important milestone. From “Barbie” with Mattel, to that time sink from EA Games, we’re getting a “The Sims” movie. “Loki” director Kate Herron is reportedly co-writing the screenplay, and may or may not direct. If someone doesn’t die in a fire in the first 10 minutes because they didn’t have a high-enough cooking skill point, we riot. This story is developing…
Hollywood is full of stories of people making one project so they could get another one greenlit. Sometimes, these are…shall we say poorly received things…paving the way for passion projects. Contractual obligations, yeah, and there are always those roles or jobs you have to take purely to survive. One of these is the case for two-time Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney (“The White Lotus,” “Euphoria”). She recently starred in Sony Pictures’ beleaguered Spider-Man adjacent “Madame Web,” which was universally panned by critics and audience members alike. Why would someone with a filmography (thus far) like Sweeney’s chose a project like this…
This has been one of those never-ending rumors pretty much since the advent of such sites as Twitter and Reddit. A reboot/revisit/revamp of the classic fantasty epic, “The Neverending Story.” Late author Michael Ende’s novel was adapted in 1984 by Wolfgang Peterson into the cult-classic film we know and love today. Last we heard, Disney was looking at some kind of project with the property, but no concrete news about it had been released since. Cut to this morning, and word that audiences will once again return to Fantastica (or Fantasia in the movies). Today’s news is that Michael Ende…
When HBO signed the deal for George RR Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” universe originally, did they really imagine it would still be going almost 15 years later? True, we’re well into the spinoff territory now, but it’s kinda like “The Walking Dead,” shambling ever-forward with more stories to tell. “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of the Dragon” will return with it’s second season later this year. We’re apparently getting a trailer tomorrow, so HBO released a slew of 6 new character posters until then. The first season of “House of the Dragon” is currently streaming on…
After what feels like years- mostly because it has been- we have our first look at the next film installment in the “Alien” franchise. From director Fede Alvarez (“Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”)comes “Alien: Romulus,” with the first teaser trailer! The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Priscilla”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced…
The release of Dr. George Miller‘s next “Mad Max” film can’t come soon enough. I mean we’ll always wait for another chapter from the Wasteland, but, we’re just really excited for this one. Titled “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” it is a prequel of 2015’s absolutely incredible “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Telling the story of Imperator Furiosa (an Oscar worthy role originated by Charlize Theron), expect to see new locations and characters, but perhaps some familiar ones too. Anya Taylor-Joy was tapped to play the younger Furiosa, a move that both saddened and excited fans. We all kind of hoped for more Theron, but,…
We’ve been looking forward to this trailer for quite some time. Set during the High Republic of the galaxy far, far away, the next live-action “Star Wars” series coming to Disney+ later this year is “The Acolyte.” This is at least 100 years before the action in the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy. This poster that was released yesterday is perhaps one of the more chilling images from the franchise- a bloody lightsaber. Leslye Headland created the show, which stars Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith , Lee Jung-Jae, Charlie Barnett, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Dafne Keen, and Carrie-Anne Moss. As far as story goes, we know a former Padawan (Stenberg) will…
