Yes, a new “Space Jam” film is still happening. Yesterday LeBron James shared the first look at his Toon Squad jersey, as well as revealing the title of the sequel. “Space Jam: A New Legacy” was directed by Malcolm D. Lee (“Night School”), who replaced the project’s original helmer Terence Nance, who left the project (along with cinematographer Bradford Young). “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler co-wrote the script with Sev Ohanian. The pair also produced the film for Warner Bros. Pictures. Kris Bowers and Hans Zimmer composed the score, which we’re assuming will have that original “Space Jam” track featured in James’ tweet. The film will…

We are very pleased to report that Elizabeth Debicki (“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”) will be joining the final two seasons as Princess Diana Spencer. The announcement was made today on Netflix series “The Crown” official Twitter account (as have pretty much every single major casting notice since the series began). And, before you ask, Princess Diana was 5’10, and Debicki is listed as 6’3. Recently, Jonathan Pryce was also announced as joining the last two seasons of the show, as Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh. Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret in season 5.…
Dear Dr. George Miller- we love you and your apocalyptic dreamscape creation of “Mad Max” and the subsequent films. From The Warrior Woman in white (Virginia Hey) in “Road Warrior,” to Aunty Entity (Tina Turner) in “Beyond Thunderdome,” to Furiosa (Charlize Theron), the Many Mothers, and the incredible Wives in “Fury Road,” you’ve given us such fierce icons standing toe-to-toe with the men as society crashed and burned.(Oh, and of course the scrapped-but-amazing concepts for Miller’s “Justice League” film with Megan Gale, who played Vulvalini warrior The Valkyrie in “Fury Road” as Wonder Woman.) Furiosa alone sort of reimagined what…
If you’ll recall, there was a recent culling by WarnerMedia that hit pretty much every single division under the company’s banner. This included Warner Bros. Pictures, Television, merchandising, and DC Comics. These were just lower positions being cleared, either. We’re talking all the way up to DC Comics Editor-in-Chief Bob Harris, Senior Vice President of publishing strategy and support services Hank Kanalz, Vice President of marketing and creative services Jonah Weiland, Vice President global publishing initiatives and digital strategy Bobbie Chase, senior story editor Brian Cunningham, and executive editor Mark Doyle. You can read more about that entire bloodbath here. It’s worth mentioning that Jim Lee,…
It still seems like yesterday when Marvel Television Studios first announced ABC as the home for their upcoming “Avengers” offshoot, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” After 7 seasons, the team said goodbye this week, and emotions were high for all involved. Marvel Entertainment just released a longer-than-we-expected video which features some highlights of the final table read for “S.H.I.E.L.D.,” and incorporated several of the finished scenes into it, so fans can see the process. Our friend, Emmy winning composer Bear McCreary, posted this blog entry about his time scoring the show, as well as a wonderful video capturing the journey. It’s been…
We’ve mostly given up hope we’ll ever see the actual published George R. R. Martin novel “Winds of Winter.” It’s been years, YEARS, since it was supposed to be originally completed and released. We feel for GRRM, we really do- it can’t be easy to feel the pressure of the world’s eyes on you while you write. The “Song of Ice and Fire” creator posted a new update to his not-a-blog website, detailing a little bit of his process (then and now), and what exactly a day in the live of GRRM is like in quarantine right now. Back in…
