Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

You may have noticed that we here at Nerdbot are just a weeeee bit obsessed with Frank Herbert’s seminal work of science fiction, “Dune.” It’s like our “Star Wars,” although we DO really, really, love the ‘Wars (and “Star Trek” too). So many incredible things are coming out in conjunction with the new film from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, including toys, comics, new editions of the original book saga, a NEW book saga, and games…. Like Dire Wolf Digital’s upcoming Dune: Imperium! Dire Wolf Digital, Gale Force 9, and Genuine Entertainment have combined forces to produce DUNE: IMPERIUM, the…

We still think it’s odd that out of ALL THE FILMS Dane Cook might have picked for a star-studded read through, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” would not have been high on the list. That said, the result is pretty entertaining, to say the least. Jennifer Aniston, Morgan Freeman, Jimmy Kimmel, Henry Golding, John Legend, Ray Liotta, Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Shia LaBeouf (who was pretty baked out of his gourd) came together via zoom to read selections from Cameron Crowe’s “Fast Times” script, and even director Amy Heckerling showed up. You can watch the video here.
