Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Ok, so, we weren’t sure what we were gonna think about Sony Pictures’ upcoming “Madame Web.” And you know what? We’re still not really sure. But, after seeing the first trailer for it, we’re a little more interested in seeing what director SJ Clarkson has in store. Dakota Johnson stars as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic with future-telling abilities. Sydney Sweeney (“Euphoria”) plays Julia Carpenter, who becomes Spider-Woman in the comics, and actually dons the iconic black and white costume in the film. Tahar Rahim plays Ezekiel Sims, villain, who also wears a pretty interesting spider-suit.At present, “Madame Web” has a…

Fans of sitcom “FRIENDS” are still reeling from the sudden loss of author and Chandler Bing actor, Matthew Perry. Hollywood was quick to offer thoughts of sympathy to Perry’s family and friends. We even got a short statement from the rest of the show’s cast. Completely understandably, it felt very designed-by-comittee. It was safe, it was publicist approved. This morning, Matt LeBlanc who played Chandler’s roommate Joey Tribbiani, posted his own statement. MatthewIt is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.It was an honor to share…

Something is happening over at Marvel Studios. Again. Still? In a move that makes a lot of sense for how things are shaping up heading into Phase 5, we may not be seeing Kang again. The character was introduced in “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,” and became a main foil for the variants and TVA in “Loki.” It really did seem like the next chapter post-“Endgame” was going all in on the Conqueror. According to Joanna Robinson, that probably isn’t the case now. The Vanity Fair writer and “MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios” co-author says the powerhouse studio is…
