If you’ve ever spent time in Burbank, CA and are of the more spooky nature, chances are you’ve heard of or visited Dark Delicacies. A bookstore that caters to horror and sci-fi aficionados, the store has been the labor of love for co-owners Del Howison and his wife, Sue Howison. “We’ve been open for 30 years, and I could have happily died right here,” Howison told SF Gate. “But my wife Sue wanted to have a life — whatever that is.” Sure, they sell books and various collectables, but they ALSO host incredible gatherings and signings! (Seriously, just take a…

This is the kind of news we love to be able to share. After two attempts- one failed series that never made it to air and one feature film that wasn’t….great- Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” may finally get the adaptation it deserves. Mike Flanagan, the de facto adapter of King’s works, revealed a deal to revive the property as a series for Amazon Prime Video. “Predating our deal with Amazon, we acquired the rights to ‘The Dark Tower,’ which if you know anything about me, you know it has been my Holy Grail of a project for most of my…
The star of the upcoming “Masters of the Universe” live-action film has shared our first official look at He-Man! Nicholas Galitzine (“Mary and George”) will be playing Prince Adam / He-Man, and posted a photo showing off the Sword of Power! “After several months of intense training, I’m thrilled to share that we’re officially in production on #MastersOfTheUniverse,” Galitzine wrote. “Our director Travis Knight has assembled the most incredible ensemble cast and created a stunning tapestry of Eternia and its surrounding world. I can’t wait for you to see. More to come, but until then, here’s a sneak peek at the…
DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran just gave an update on the slate of in-development and upcoming projects. Some of these were surprising, and some were unsurprising. The Amanda Waller series starring Viola Davis is apparently still in the early writing phase. “We’ve taken a couple of cracks at it but still haven’t been able land,” Safran said about the scripts. What about the always-in-development-but-never-happening Booster Gold series? Well, seems like there almost was a showrunner for that. “Maybe he fell out of love, maybe he got busy,” Safran said, “but we had to pivot.” And then there…
We are delighted to share a new trailer for the upcoming second season of “Andor.” Telling the tale of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) in the years before “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” Tony Gilroy’s series surprised us in the best of ways. Strong writing, even stronger performances, and one hell of a galactic funeral for a freedom fighter made it a standout release. The wait for season 2 is nearly over, and this morning, Lucasfilm released a new trailer. The final season will unfold over 12 episodes broken down into four chapters of three episodes each. Subsequent chapters will release…
One of our favorite surprise shows of the last few years was “Jury Duty.” If you haven’t seen it, we don’t want to ruin it. Just know, it’s the kind of charming and ridiculous feel-good comedy that will make you feel better after watching it. Especially because the ‘star,’ Ronald Gladden, is the type of person you hope to encounter at least once in your life. It garnered several Emmy nominations, including outstanding comedy, writing and casting for comedy, and a supporting actor nod for James Marsden. Marsden starred alongside Gladden, Alan Barinholtz, Susan Berger, Cassandra Blair, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola,…
A piece of heroic history from the galaxy far, far away has been found, and will be going up for auction. This is one of the iconic props from “Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope,” and we’re excited to see what it’ll go for. If you’ll recall, in the closing scenes of the 1977 film, a ceremony takes place to honor those who destroyed the first Death Star. Called the Throne Room (probably because of Princess Leia Organa presiding over the festivities), special medals are handed out to Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, thanking them for their service to…
We’ve had a love-hate-hopeful relationship with Amazon Prime Video’s “The Wheel of Time.” With such a LARGE amount of source material to pull from for the adaptation, season 1 left us scratching our heads. Why even call it “The Wheel of Time” with so many changes? (No complaints about casting though, almost 100% satisfaction across the Ajas and beyond.) Season 2 was marginally better, and set our expectations higher for what was to come. Maybe this shift was because showrunner Rafe Judkins had stepped away, who’s to say. But with so much of the important world-forming things set to take…
We are so delighted to share the news that Nickelodeon has indeed greenlit a brand new animated series in the world of “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” The series, which continues to grow in fandom and acclaim, is actually celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year. The new show, called “Avatar: Seven Havens,” is the brainchild of original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The order is for 26 episodes, which will be split into two books (seasons) of 13 episodes each. “For two decades, the richly crafted world of Avatar: The Last Airbender has introduced audiences to a world of compelling characters…
This just in-After yet another massive bidding war over the future of the MI6 agent with a license to kill, a new home for James Bond has been revealed. We’re not really surprised, honestly. Considering how long MGM held the reigns of the franchise and everything. Back in 2022, retail and streaming giant Amazon closed a deal for around $8.5 billion to acquire MGM and their entire catalog. So, it makes perfect sense that Amazon MGM Studios will take control of the Bond films. But this is more of a surprise because of how adamantly franchise steward Barbara Broccoli said she…
