I always knew I was justified in my love of QuentinTarantino, and a recent interview with the filmmaker cemented it. We want to start by saying that headline is somewhat disingenuous. Yes, filmmaker David Lynch has disclosed his suffering from emphysema. Yes, he has said it has made it impossible for him to direct, but the main thing is “in person.” With Covid still very much a problem, it’s understandable for someone like Lynch to put his health first.So yes, while he “can no longer direct in person,” that doesn’t mean he’s done making films. HBO’s flagship franchise “Game of Thrones” has to date had one spinoff series hit the small screen. “John Wick” is back, yet again! This time, as a planned continuation tv series from creator/director Chad Stahelski and film franchise star Keanu Reeves. It’ll reportedly be called “John Wick: The High Table.” Stahelski will direct the pilot of the series. “The High Table” will be theoretically set right after the events of “John Wick: Chapter 4.” Reeves is going to be a “hands-on producer,” but is NOT confirmed for the cast. Thank the Lords of Kobol. That reboot of Ronald D. Moore’s “Battlestar Galactica” (which of course was a reboot of the classic 1970s series) from Sam Esmail is reportedly finally dead in the water. Or…space? Dead in space? Yeah, we’ll go with that. Back in 2020, Esmail (“Mr. Robot”) announced his intentions to reboot one of the most successful reboots to date.
