Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Please note in our headline, we say ‘what if,’ because so far there is zero information about directors for Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming black “Superman” movie. If you’ll recall, news broke back in February that WB had brought on Ta-Nehisi Coates to write a new take on the Last Son of Krypton. Specifically, a black Superman. This isn’t a new idea, as rumors have abounded for the last five years at least that someone at WB was actively shopping a black lead in the iconic DC Comics’ role. Michael B. Jordan was rumored as far back as 2018, when Marvel…

Another example of a movie no one really wanted that might end up being awesome is Disney’s upcoming “Jungle Cruise.” Based on the iconic adventure ride at Disneyland, the film stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt as skipper Frank Wolff and researcher Dr. Lily Houghton.Jaume Collet-Serra is directing “Jungle Cruise,” from a story by John Norville, Josh Goldstein, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa, and a screenplay by Ficarra, Requa, and Michael Green. We are delighted to share the newest tease of the 4th season of Netflix’s “Cobra Kai!” Obviously, it’s been one of our favorite revamps of a classic 80’s property. Highlighting the adult lives of “The Karate Kid” characters Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), “Cobra Kai” continues to deliver. Good action, even better writing, we can’t wait to see what else the series brings. Just this morning, Netflix released a sneak peek at the upcoming season 4…

Disney’s “Cruella” was not a film I personally wanted. How can you improve on Glenn Close’s perfection, bringing the madwoman to life? Well, you bring in “I, Tonya” helmer Craig Gillespie, cast the two magical Emmas (Emma Stone and Emma Thompson), and tell a tale of Vivienne Westwood vs the fashion establishment in London circa the 1970s. Toss in some killer needle drops, this film was ABSOLUTELY a delight. When that second trailer hit, I knew I had been wrong about not wanting such a project. The styling alone was enough to set my heart aflutter. Borrowing silhouettes from Dior…
