Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

We’re not sure how to tell you this, but there is absolutely a Zombie Captain America face character shambling through California Adventure at Disneyland in Anaheim. Okay okay yes, he’s specifically around for Oogie Boogie’s Halloween Bash happening right now, but, HE LOOKS AMAZING. If you’ll recall, episode five of Marvel Studios’ “What If…?” animated series on Disney+ focused on a perennial favorite- zombies. Namely, what if the world (heroes and all) was overrun with the undead? We see pretty much all the Avengers as zombies, but none so terrifying as Captain America with his shield. Apparently one of the…

On Thursday October 21st, an awful and by all accounts preventable nightmare occurred on the set of “Rust,” a western film starring Alec Baldwin. A pistol was fired by Baldwin, striking both cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza. Hutchins was killed, Souza was treated for his injuries. IASTE Local 44 issued an email to their Sante Fe members, indicating a single live round was in play, causing this tragedy. Local authorities haven’t confirmed nor denied this, as an active investigation is still ongoing. According to a source on the production, who will remain anonymous (but allowed us to run…

We didn’t think it was going to happen, honestly, but we’re DELIGHTED to report that Apple TV+ has ordered a 3rd AND 4th season of “Mythic Quest!” Yes, we were waaaaay late to the party on this series. We’ll be the first to admit it. But, it’s certainly a show that we’ve fallen in love with. Huh. Maybe our watching it all the way through three times in a week (what, we had to show it to EVERYONE!) helped? The news was announced by Apple TV’s official Twitter account. WHICH ALSO included some big name news! Apple TV+ Head of Programming…

If you’ve never had the pleasure of reciting William Shakespeare’s “Star Wars,” maybe this new title won’t be as exciting to you. But, for those drama kids and galaxy far, far away enthusiasts, it’s kind of the best thing ever. It also isn’t the ONLY popular franchise to get The Bard treatment, as “Back To The Future” now ALSO has very special iambic pentameter release from Ian Doescher. Celebrate Back to the Future with this illustrated adaptation of the cult classic script, retold in Shakespearean verse by the best-selling author of William Shakespeare’s Star Wars. In the iconic film by Robert Zemeckis and…

Today, it is the legend. “Dune Part One,” Denis Villeneuve’s retelling of Frank Herbert’s seminal work, finally hits US theaters and HBO Max. It’s been a very long journey for this production, and we’re so glad it’s finally releasing. Part of the recent chatter about the 2hour35minute long film has been focused on whether or not Warner Bros. Pictures would greenlight the second half. We’ve known for years the plan had been to split the first “Dune” novel into two parts, so this isn’t really a big surprise. This flick had been delayed by over a full year due to…

You’ve been waiting for it, and it’s finally here! After delays aplenty, the first trailer for Tom Holland-starring “Uncharted” film is here!Holland stars as adventurer Nathan Drake, the main character of the ever-popular Uncharted video game series from NaughtyDog. He’s joined by fellow treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan, played by Mark Wahlberg. It’s kinda weird to see Holland as a bartender, because in our mind, he’s still Peter Parker the teenager. Ruben Fleischer directs this film, from a script by Rafe Judkins (who happens to be the showrunner for “Wheel of Time), Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway.”Uncharted” is scheduled to hit theaters…

If God created Arrakis to train the faithful, so too did Denis Villeneuve with his film “Dune.” We can say that with complete certainty after finally witnessing the visual blessing. For me personally, Frank Herbert’s “Dune” has been my “Star Wars.” Obsessed with, haunted by, impassioned. This is a story that spoke to me, like it did everyone who loves it, on a certain level that has continued to evolve and change. In early 2017, Villeneuve was confirmed to be tackling this massive tome for Legendary Pictures. We hadn’t seen his “Blade Runner” sequel yet (it released in October of…

It used to be that no amount of wishful thinking in the guise of headlines from outlets would resurrect a series. Try as they might, fans just can’t get Netflix’s Marvel series back. That’s not to say the stars themselves aren’t interested in returning, either. Because Charlie Cox as least has been very vocal about wanting to return to Hell’s Kitchen as Daredevil.Cox has said this, frequently and loudly, since “Marvel’s Daredevil” was cancelled after three seasons on the streaming giant. Of course with Marvel Studios properties one of the biggest draws for House of Mouse streaming service Disney+, it…
