Surprising no one, Warner Bros. Pictures has officially declared a sequel to Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” is on the way. Announced during WB’s CinemaCon 2022 panel, this comes as a nice official confirmation. “The Batman” just hit HBO Max recently, so if you haven’t seen it, you absolutely should. Additional Caped Crusader projects are being developed for the streaming service.Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

This just in-Director Justin Lin has stepped down from his role of director for the upcoming “Fast X” film. This is the 10th entry into the “Fast & Furious” saga, and will be released in two parts. Lin’s official statement reads as follows:“With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of Fast X, while remaining with the project as a producer. This week, all eyes are on CinemaCon 2022, happening in Las Vegas. The big studios’ use this event as a roll out of upcoming releases, as well as marketing push for those titles. Sometimes there are secret screenings of upcoming films. But most of the time, it’s all about the announcements. Like Sony Pictures’ reveal that yes, they are indeed working on a 5th “Ghostbusters” film. This isn’t really surprising, considering how well 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” did. This just in from CinemaCon 2022 happening right now in Las Vegas-Universal Pictures’ upcoming live-action adaptation of hit Broadway musical “Wicked” is getting split. Now in two parts, the film(s) will release Christmas Day 2024, with part 2 on Christmas Day 2025.Based on Gregory Maguire’s “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West,” the musical serves as a prequel to the events of The Wizard of Oz. We are a month away from Disney+’s “Star Wars” live action series “Obi Wan Kenobi” premiering. As you can imagine, fans are SUPER excited to see the return of Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master. This morning, Total Film revealed a few new images from the series, including the cover for their next issue. AND- McGregor will be appearing at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration Anaheim convention. “Obi Wan Kenobi” hits Disney+ on May 27th, 2022.

Amid various concerns surrounding loss of subscribers, Netflix just announced a pretty big project. In his first tv series, Arnold Schwarzenegger will lead a new spy series for the streaming giant. Monica Barbaro (“Top Gun: Maverick”) will co-star. Bet you thought we were done with shifting release dates from the big studios, huh? Yeah, not so much.
