Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

This just in-it would appear popular “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” character Spider Noir is getting his own spinoff series! At least we know why he isn’t appearing in the upcoming “Across the Spider-Verse” now. The craziest part? IT’LL BE LIVE ACTION. The series will take place in 1930s New York, but Peter Parker WON’T be the main character.Oren Uziel developed the show with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. This just in-Disney is apparently working on a 5th installment of ever popular film franchise, “Toy Story!” Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the news during the company’s quarterly investor call on Feb. 8th.  “Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia,” Iger said. “We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises.” We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.

This just in- it would appear Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey will star as The King- Elvis Presley, in an animated series for Netflix. The first teaser for it was released earlier today. The project was created by the late Priscilla Presley, and John Eddie. “Agent Elvis” marks the first ‘adult’ animated release from Sony Pictures Animation. We are very sorry to share the news that Oscar and Tony nominated actress Melinda Dillon has passed away. Arguably best known for her role as Ralphie’s mom in the classic film “A Christmas Story,” Dillon had been a working actress since 1963. In Steven Spielberg’s iconic “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” Dillon played Jillian, mother of Barry and witnesser of the bright lights in the sky. Her beautiful performance received an Oscar nomination for her work in the film.Melinda Dillon’s family confirmed the sad news. She passed away on January 9th, at the age of 83.

It looks like filming for season 1 of Disney+’s upcoming “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has wrapped! The live-action series will reintroduce the characters from Rick Riordan’s novels all about Percy Jackson, aka Perseus, living in the modern world. Riordan is VERY involved with the series, and has been nothing but excited and supportive of the project.
