Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

You know that thing which sometimes happens where one ‘outlet’ runs a rumor, and others pick it up as gospel? This is apparently the case with the recent hullabaloo about a possible “Twister” sequel. To be fair, this proposed return of the cinematic storm chasers has been spoken about for years. But, a recent ‘scoop’ claims “Prey” director Dan Trachtenberg was going to helm the project. But by his own words, he’s not. As far as we can tell FOR SURE, Universal and Amblin Pictures ARE actively developing “Twisters.” Additional sources indicate a desire for Helen Hunt, who played Dr.…

There’s word James Gunn is already pitching another DC Comics film, but no one is sure what exactly it’s going to be. His turn as writer/director of “The Suicide Squad” was pretty damn successful, so perhaps it’s another of those. Gunn could also be looking to introduce another character (or set of characters) entirely to the DCEU. Some possibilities that have been tossed around include solo outings of various Suicide Squad members, the upcoming Booster Gold film, or even a relaunch of Swamp Thing. Given Gunn’s background with Troma and horror-bent films, the latter suggestion would be AWESOME. OR, the scoopers could…

The third “Rocky” spinoff film, “Creed III,” has an official trailer and release date! This will also mark the directorial debut of star Michael B. Jordan, who again reprises his role as Adonis Creed. Marvel Studios fans may find it amusing that Jordan, who played Killmonger in “Black Panther,” will be facing Jonathan Majors, who played Kang in “Loki,” in this film. Tessa Thompson, who played King Valkyrie in “Thor: Ragnarok,” and “Thor: Love and Thunder” returns as Adonis’s wife, Bianca. So…is this like…the first chapter of “Secret Wars?” Earlier this week, MGM released two posters, featuring Adonis and Damian.…

It’s been a strange start of the week for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics-based films. Not necessarily bad, but for sure, different. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Black Adam” anti-hero film is finally about to hit theaters, and with it comes news of what’s in the pipeline from WB. The most interesting bit of news to come from this week over at WB has to do with the Last Son of Krypton. A rumor pops up every few months that Henry Cavill would be returning as Superman in a solo sequel to “Man of Steel.” Usually, we sort of nod…

“A Christmas Story” is a classic. While perhaps not EVERYONE’s favorite, the film has remained a touchstone for generations during the holiday season. A sequel to the original has been on the docket for sometime, and we just got our first look at it. Titled “A Christmas Story Christmas” (how original), the HBO Max project sees Peter Billingsley return as Ralphie Parker. This just in-it would appear Comcast has decided to cease any/all operations of gamer-focused network, G4. This is not the first time G4 has suffered a painful demise, but this one was pretty immediate. We are so very sorry to report that Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane has passed away. Coltrane was arguably best known for his role as Rubeus Hagrid in the “Harry Potter” franchise. He also appeared in Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond films, starting with “Goldeneye.” With a career spanning decades across screens big and small, we last saw Coltrane in the Warner Bros. Pictures “Harry Potter” reunion special. Fan concern about his health was almost immediate. He was 72.

This just in-it would appear the story about Harrison Ford replacing the late William Hurt as General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross in Marvel Studios pictures is…true? Hurt first appeared as Ross in “The Incredible Hulk,” and continued to pop up every so often. With Marvel Studios announcing “Thunderbolts” as a stand alone picture, it makes sense the character would need to continue. Honestly, we’re pretty excited to see Ford join the MCU. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.

We got a front-row seat for the biggest post-apocalyptic festival in the world! We’re talking of course about the one and only Wasteland Weekend, the 5-day fully immersive desert festival held in the Mojave Desert in California. Celebrating their 13th year in 2022, Wasteland continued to BRING IT with “Mad Max” inspired vehicles, camps, performances, and costumes. Yes, they even have a freaking Thunderdome! When we say ‘fully immersive,’ we mean it. Every single attendee- press, staff, performers, and vendors- must be in appropriately themed costumes. (Including yours truly!) Sure, my kit isn’t perfect yet, but that’s also part of…
