Each year, fans from across the globe converge in downtown San Diego to experience the madness that is San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). 2023 will be an interesting year for the annual gathering, as multiple big kid studios and projects are opting not to have a presence. We’d previously reported on a possible teaming up of two major players in the streaming game. HBO, which is under the per-view of Warner Bros. Discovery, was entering into negotiations with industry giant Netflix to possibly license some of those big HBO titles for their platform. The upcoming stop-motion project from dwarf studios and Netflix “Pokémon Concierge” is coming later this year! A new look at the upcoming series was just revealed during AnimeExpo in Los Angeles. The story follows Haru, a concierge at the ‘Pokémon Resort,’ and her interactions with Pokémon and their owners who visit as guests. The set tour is hosting by Non, who will be providing the voice for Haru. As announced earlier today at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, the original voice cast of “One Piece” is joining the live-action Netflix series! Mayumi Tanaka, who voiced Luffy in the oringinal anime, will be handling the character once again for the Japanese dub of the live-action show. I will say right out front, I am a huge fan of the “Indiana Jones” film franchise. Sure, there are moments throughout the 5-film saga that aren’t what one would call…good…but on the whole, it usually delivers exactly what it promises. It helps to remember the entire point of these films is to be pulpy and adventurous- taking cues and beats from the numerous paperbacks of the early 1930s.
