We’ve seen plenty of Kickstarter campaigns to make or even finish the production of a movie. But we don’t think we’ve ever seen one to extend a film’s theatrical run. Now, the team behind the Donald Trump-based biographical drama “The Apprentice,” is doing just that. A new Kickstarter called “Release the Apprentice” has been launched, to “keep the film in as many theaters for as long as possible.” The film is finished, already premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and is slated to open in theaters on October 11th. FX has just released the first trailer for Ryan Murphy’s newest 10-episode series “Grotesquerie.” It was written and created by Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken. Episode directors include Murphy, Max Winkler, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Elegance Bratton. “Grotesquerie,” will be the acting debut of NFL star Travis Kelce, whose role is currently being kept under wraps. Actor James McAvoy (“Split”) is showing once again that life really can imitate art in the upcoming film “Speak No Evil.” In the movie, McAvoy portrays Patty, a father, husband, and beacon of toxic masculinity. Jagged Edge Productions’ Poohniverse just keeps growing. The latest addition to the land of twisted public domain characters is “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare.” Putting the boy who never grew up in with other horror adaptations like Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, and Pinocchio.  “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” is directed by Scott Jeffrey who co-wrote the script alongside Rhys Frake-Waterfield. In 2017, a live-action movie based on the Robert Kirkman-created “Invincible” comics was announced. At the time, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were attached to write and direct, then radio silence about the project. Even despite the success of Amazon’s animated series adaptation of the same comics.
