Hi, I’m Ada. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

An upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic from Universal Studios will be written by “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” co-writer Joe Robert Cole. It will be directed by Allen Hughes who, along with his brother Albert, has directed films like “Menace II Society” and “Dead Presidents.” Unlike a lot of biopics, this one is not being done posthumously. Not only is rapper and kid’s show host still alive, but he is heavily involved with the project. So involved that he is coproducing it with Sara Ramaker and Hughes. This upcoming film will also be the inaugural movie for Snoop’s Death Row Pictures, which…

The internet is a weird and wonderful place where people can gain support or ire for the most unlikely things. Like a Philadelphia man eating 40 rotisserie chickens in 40 days, gathering a crowd of cheering onlookers as he completed his mission.  Restaurant server Alexander Tominsky announced he was on day 11 of a mission to eat 30 rotisserie chickens in 30 days. As promised, he posted a photo a day of him eating a whole rotisserie chicken. On October 27th, when this journey was supposed to end, he posted an image of himself eating the last chicken. It was…

In late July, Netflix gave us a teaser trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio.” This morning, we were graced with a full trailer. With only a month before its release, this has certainly whet our appetites for the stop-motion feature.  This will be Oscar-winner del Toro’s spin on Carlo Collodi’s classic tale, which was first published in the late 19th century. Walt Disney Pictures famously adapted it in 1940. It was the first animated feature to win an Academy Award. This year, Disney tried their hand at it again with a live-action adaptation starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto. It was…

In 2020 sculptor Joep van Lieshout auctioned off his piece “Sensory Deprivation Skull, 2007.” The skull’s design allows users the experience of literally and metaphorically entering their own heads. With the intent to offer a place for a mental break, away from how busy the world can be. This fiberglass statue measures 132 x 150 x 100 cm; 52 x 59 x 39 ⅜ in and looks like a giant skull. While this listing shows the work is lined with a fluffy, presumably insulating material, another listing for a skull from the same year lists sheepskin as a material. It…

Despite HBO’s “Westworld” being canceled before season five, the principal cast will still be paid for it. The show is a modern adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1973 film. It is a dark sci-fi odyssey about artificial consciousness and what free will really is.  While “Westworld”’s creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan had high hopes for season 5, HBO confirmed it wasn’t going to happen. “We always planned for a fifth and final season,” Nolan explained during NYCC 2022. “We are still in conversations with the network. We very much hope to make them.” It is a bummer all around that the…

“Gears of War” video game creator Cliff Bleszinski has a lot of thoughts on the cast for the recently announced Netflix movie adaptation. The streaming giant announced a partnership with Canadian game developer The Coalition. Together, they will be adapting the popular franchise into a live-action movie and an adult animated series. A fitting announcement considering it was also the 16th anniversary of “Gears of War’s” first release.  In light of this information, Bleszinski excitedly took to Twitter to do some fantasy casting. To be clear, Bleszinski is NOT involved with either project, but has blessed them. (Though he would…

PetSmart has done some very important research. Apparently, the holidays really do revolve around our pets. From how we spend our time off to how we spend our money, pet parents put their animals above an (un)surprising amount of things. The survey was of 1,000 nationally representative U.S. pet owners ages 18+ via an email invite/online survey. This survey was conducted Wakefield Research between September 29th-October 5th, 2022. It doesn’t get more recent than that! 87% of respondents said they intend to carve out special time to bond with their pets during their off time this holiday season. This makes…

Do you love Flamin’ Hot Cheetos? Like, love them so much you’d build a 3,000 lbs sarcophagus to entomb them for future generations? Well if not, then get on TikToker Sunday.Nobody’s level because the “meme artist” did just that. In a new video that has already garnered over 10.1 million views, they explain the process. It all started with a massive box made from sheets of melamine. Then comes cutting and bending rebar at 90-degree angles to fit perfectly into the melamine tomb. Then the concrete is spread over all of it before dropping a slightly less massive melamine box…
