Hi, I’m Amy. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

Early in the morning of July 7th, Disneyland’s official Facebook and Instagram made posts containing racist and homophobic slurs. All four of the posts were made around 4:30am, and were quickly removed. Of course not before many people saw them and took screen shots. It also appears the posts were also added to Instagram stories, but those were also swiftly taken down.  “Disneyland Resort’s Facebook and Instagram accounts were compromised early this morning,”  the company said in a statement. “We worked quickly to remove the reprehensible content, secure our accounts, and our security teams are conducting an investigation.” These posts were made…

Chris Hemsworth (“Spiderhead”) will be appearing on the CBeebies show “Bedtime Stories.” He will be reading the children’s book “Stormy Night” by Salina Yoon. “Stormy Night” tells the story of a little bear, helpfully named Bear, who is afraid of thunderstorms. Bear’s Mama, Papa, and Floppy all help him cope, and see that the storm is not so scary. A fun little joke to have someone known for playing Thor, God of thunder, reading a story about how storms are not frightening.  “I love nothing more than reading bedtime stories to my children and it was a joy to get…

A kangaroo named Baxter was running around town in Zachary, Louisiana. Baxter escaped his enclosure with the help of a bird named Thor, who was smart enough to work out the locking mechanism. This allowed the kangaroo to pull a daring daylight escape.  Ethan Nelson and his brother are two of the many people who spotted Baxter as he ran alongside a highway near Baton Rouge. “He said, ‘there’s a kangaroo on the side of the road!’ I was like, ‘what are you talking about?’ I turned around, and sure enough, there was a kangaroo,” Nelson recounted to WBRZ-TV. A nostalgia-inducing image of an abandoned Burger King restaurant has gone viral. Back in April, Jonathon Pruitt took a picture of a long-closed Burger King in a Delaware mall, untouched by time. The internet is now just marveling at his discovery.  This Burger King location was actually operational until 2009, according to the mall’s general manager. But it seems this location never updated to the chain’s more current styles. So the parquet flooring, angular wall adornments, and pastel-topped tables and chairs give off major 1980s and 1990s vibes.  “It’s unbelievable how a random photo I posted 2 months ago on…

Actor Butch Patrick played Eddie Munster on the original 1960’s show “The Munsters.” Director Rob Zombie confirmed via Instagram Patrick will be in the upcoming reboot, but not as Eddie. Patrick will be portraying the Tin Can Man. Like the return of the character, Zombo, this is another direct reference to the original show. The Tin Can Man is a robot that Eddie built for a science fair. When his machine is sabotaged it is up to grandpa (Al Lewis) to fix it. So Patrick will effectively be playing his own creation, and it doesn’t get more meta than that. …

With “Jurassic World: Dominion” tearing up the box office. It was only a matter of time before independent film distributor The Asylum put their spin on it. “Jurassic Domination” has now entered the chat, and its trailer is everything you’d expect.  “When two military-made, weaponized dinosaurs attack a small mountain town, it’s up to the sheriff to figure out a way to stop the creatures before the dinos escape and wreak havoc nationwide.” If that doesn’t sound like a mockbuster, we don’t know what does. “Jurassic Domination” will star Eric Roberts (“The Dark Knight”), Jack Pearson (“Pam & Tommy”), and…
