NKY Films and Mediatrix Films are teaming up for the upcoming slasher Run!. The film will see the return of Giovanni Frezza, who played Bob in The House by the Cemetery, in his first acting role in 40 years!

The cast is also set to include Andrew Thorp (Chicago Fire), Gary Kroeger (Saturday Night Live), and wrestlers Sean Stewart, Marti Belle, Larkan Danielle, and Aaron Williams. Ricky Glore (Sweet Meats) directs from a script he co-wrote with Eric M. Hunter and Gage Dailey.

Run! Follows a masked slasher trough the decades of their carrer. “from the gritty 70s homestead killings to the neon-soaked, merchandising-heavy 80s, and into the quippy, self-aware 90s,” the synopsis reads. ”In the world of the film, the ‘Free to Kill, You and Me’ Act, a government program for population control, has turned masked slasher killers into corporate employees of ‘HACKENSLASH INC.’”

Making the film a meta social commentary on capitalism, escpecially within the evolution of horror franchises.

Frezza has not acted in a film since Lamberto Bava’s 1985 film Demons. Despite his career on camera being short-lived, he worked with filmmakers like Dario Argento and Enzo G. Castellari. Making him a huge star in Italian cinema at the time. He stepped away from acting at 13 and eventually pursued a degree in physics, leading to a career in tech. But that’s not to say he regrets his childhood roles and has stayed connected to his fans.

Run! is set to start production in September, with an anticipated release in late 2027 or early 2028. The production is currently fundraising here. Check out the film’s poster art, designed by Marc Schoenbach, below.
