“Art” made through generative AI technology has been a hot-button issue for the past few years. Streaming platforms like Bandcamp and Spotify have been particularly affected, with users uploading fully AI-generated tracks. Since 2003, the Visual Effects Society has used the VES Awards to honor outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation in entertainment. VES revealed their 2026 nominees, and James Cameron’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” leads the pack with 10. February 27th, 2026 will mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. In March of 2024, Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios announced “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.” It will have several of the studio’s “Twisted Childhood Universe” characters in an “Avengers”-style horror crossover.   Jagged Edge has confirmed film will begin shooting this summer! It looks like HBO’s “The White Lotus” has selected the hotel it will use for its upcoming 4th season. In November, it was confirmed by the network that this season would be set in France. Now we know that the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez will serve as the fictitious White Lotus resort.  In the previous season, HBO had a marketing partnership with the Four Seasons hotel chain. On January 7th, Minnesota resident Renee Nicole Macklin Good was fatally shot by an ICE agent during a protest of the agency’s current, scorched-earth tactics towards immigration. Once word got out that the unarmed US citizen and mother of three was killed, people were understandably furious. Protests all across the country have made it clear that ICE’s mass raids are not only unwelcome but completely un-American. If the real world isn’t enough of a fever dream for you, Netflix is bringing back the dystopian hit “Black Mirror.” Series creator Charlie Brooker has confirmed the show has been greenlit for an 8th season by the streaming giant. This makes the series-turned-cultural phenomenon one of the platform’s longest-running shows.  “I can confirm that Black Mirror will return, just in time for reality to catch up with it,” Brooker said. “So, that’s exciting.
