Ever since then he's been engrossed in way too much media with a growing collection of music, books, comics, TV on DVD box sets, and a video game collection that could rival a brick and mortar store. Prior to writing for Nerdbot he's written for Review You, MyAnimeList, and various advertising companies.

After leaving Konami to form his own studio, Hideo Kojima has gone all-in on his game “Death Stranding.” When the first game dropped in 2019, some of its elements of storytelling and gameplay were divisive, but in the years to follow it blossomed into something beyond a cult classic and to greater acclaim. Since the beginning, Kojima has envisioned a greater world for the franchise, including an animated series. And Now we know that animated series will land at Disney+. Well, we suppose it’s time we put our two cents in on this matter, the penny has officially ceased being minted. Since 1793, the penny has been consistently produced in Philadelphia but those days are now at an end. We shall not forget it’s copper-toned beauty but we do celebrate it today as the production grinds to a halt. As noteworthy as this is, we should note the US penny was actually preceded in death by the Canadian penny. Our neighbors to the North actually discontinued their one-cent coin back in 2012, resulting in prices being rounded to the nearest…

Amongst the many woes that the world has been facing lately, economic ones have been some of the most wide-ranging and diverse. A number of various factors have been piling up that are spelling bad news for individuals and businesses. We’re not just talking small businesses either, big name companies are hurting. The retail sector is specifically being hit hard right now, and Funko, alongside their large-headed figurines, may not see it through another year of business. We’ve known Funko wasn’t in a good spot. Even before various economic factors (tariffs, etc.) started mounting, sales of Pops and other products…

In the flurry of video game adaptations we’ve seen over the last few years, several of them have been pretty stunning. There was “Fallout” and “The Last of Us” as successful tv series, alongside Mario and Sonic earning strong box office returns. We’ve also seen some unexpected turns, like Peacock’s “Twisted Metal.” But in the realm of things we didn’t see coming- Netflix adapting “Overcooked” as a reality series. “Overcooked” is a series of games that, as the title suggests, is about cooking. The multiplayer focused game tasks you with running around a kitchen and prepping food orders before clients…

In the pantheon of American authors, there are very few, if any, that carry the kind of clout that Ernest Hemingway did and still does in death. Hemingway’s literary prowess was as grandiose as his personality; heavily drinking and guns blazing. His deterioration in his later years added a sense of tragedy to his life that helped cement him as a complicated and tragic figure, akin to a character he could’ve written about. Not only does his legacy continue from his works, but in his family. His great-granddaughter, Dree Hemingway seeks to shed some light on her ancestry in an…

As part of the shared human experience, we are all guilty of taking certain things for granted. Many of our lives have the potential to be filled with so many things that we don’t take the time to stop and wonder how they came to be. Take Velcro for example; have you ever looked at it and wondered who made it? Was it some guy named John Velcro? Turns out it was a Swiss guy named George de Mestral (or, for the “Star Trek” fans out there, Commander T’Pol). But we’re not here to talk about Velcro. We’re here to…

Fans of “The Lord of the Rings” video games have not had an easy go of things. For every announcement about an upcoming project, there have been letdowns and missteps. “Tales of the Shire” was a disappointment, we don’t speak about that “Gollum” game, and Warner Bros. shut down the studio that made the “Shadows of Mordor” duology. As if fans needed to be dealt yet another blow, Amazon Games’ ambitious MMORPG has been cancelled, amongst a slew or corporate layoffs. After Embracer Group got the video game rights for the franchise, it was only a matter of time before…

It’s about time we had some good news to report, I’ll tell you what! One of the most pleasant surprises we had this year was the revival of “King of the Hill.” Though the world had changed a lot in the 16 years since the series finale, the comedic sensibility and fantastic storytelling of the series has not. Owing to the overwhelming positive reviews for the revival, Hulu has ordered an additional 2 seasons! Hulu was confident enough to greenlight two seasons of the “King of the Hill” revival to start. This isn’t an uncommon thing with streaming networks, in…

We have a tremendous amount of love and respect for astronauts, astronomers, NASA, and research scientists the world over who have helped lead humanity into the stars. These organizations and people have spent much of their lives in the pursuit of advancing what we know and understand about the universe and the results have been astounding. Regrettably, there are STILL those who refuse to believe the 1969 Moon landing was real. Some of those conspiracy theorists sit in positions of influence and popularity, including Kim Kardashian. On the most recent episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim discussed her belief that the…

It’s Halloween time and ’tis the season for spooky scary things. Perhaps you’re frightened by paranormal and supernatural entities, or maybe your trepidations are more grounded in the reality of creepy crawlies like bugs and spiders. If it’s the latter, then you may not have wanted to be around a Plano, Texas Spirit Halloween store when it became the playground for a spider swinging through its rafters. Sorry, not a spider- a spider monkey. Why was there a monkey in the store? It is apparently a pet of a patron who was visiting the store on Monday, October 27th. One…
