Author: Heath Andrews

Heath Andrews has been a student of pop culture ever since he found himself to be the only student in 3rd grade who regularly watched "Get Smart" on Nick-At-Nite. Ever since then he's been engrossed in way too much media with a growing collection of music, books, comics, TV on DVD box sets, and a video game collection that could rival a brick and mortar store. Prior to writing for Nerdbot he's written for Review You, MyAnimeList, and various advertising companies. Since 2016 he's run his own YouTube channel under the moniker of The Critical Android where he livestreams video games and uploads podcasts about pop culture and Frasier.

There are few modern writers who are as prolific in their output as Stephen King. Since the publication of “Carrie” in 1974, King has released novels almost yearly, and sometimes more than one. Since 1976, King’s novels have gotten major film adaptations, once again starting with “Carrie” (directed by Brian De Palma). It’s possible more people know King’s work BECAUSE of the many adaptations than from the books themselves. It’s only fair then that a documentary be made about all these movies, which is exactly what we’re getting this summer. “King on Film” is a documentary by Daphné Baiwir. It…

Enter “Scream VI” and a stunt that gave the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office a good scare. Even if you’re not particularly a fan of the “Scream” series, you…

If you’ve been following our coverage of the “Frasier” revival, you’ll know that one of our recurring side-notes has been about the potential presence of Lilith Sternin. Played by Bebe Neuwirth since “Cheers” season 4, Lilith is Frasier’s ex-wife. Canonically, Lilith remained in Boston after Frasier left for Seattle. This has led to the potential for the two characters to reunite, since Frasier is returning to Boston for this sequel series. Well, looks like we nailed this one because it’s official: Lilith is back. Neuwirth will indeed reprise her role as Lilith in the “Frasier” revival series, set to premiere…

Oh Lizzo, what surprises will you continue to delight us with? The accomplished singer and flautist already gave us something to cherish when she played with Cookie Monster (and Elmo) on “Sesame Street.” Her most recent surprise? Doing an off the cuff cover of Rammstein’s most famous song on a tour stop in Germany. All it took learning a couple of words in German, and the rest is history. Lizzo reportedly picked up on the word “Oma,” which means “granny” in English. Now, there are several directions you can musically go after learning a couple of German words. If you…

Former California Governor and action genre legend Arnold Schwarzenegger is a man who has seen and done it all; mostly. From bodybuilding and terminating to cigar-smoking and governating, there are few stones the man has left unturned. Throughout 2022 and into 2023 we’ve had to see a lot of great shows come to an end. This year will mark the end of “Star Trek: Picard” (maybe?), “The Blacklist,” “Doom Patrol,” and more. Unfortunately, it’s time to add another to that list. HBO’s hit series “Succession” will be coming to an end after its upcoming fourth season. “Succession” was an instant success for HBO when it premiered in the summer of 2018. Not only was it a ratings win, but critics were largely unanimous in their praise for the very black comedy/drama. The satirical and scathing look at…

Police partnerships have always been good fodder for television and film. You’ve got Riggs and Murtagh from “Lethal Weapon,” Cagney & Lacey from their eponymous program, even Turner & Hooch…well maybe not that one- Tango & Cash, there ya go! Well among the more popular pairings was found in the 1970’s television series, “Starsky & Hutch.” While the show was very much a relic of its time it has lived on in popular culture enough to produce a 2004 film based on it and has been broadcast in re-runs for decades. The duo is potentially coming back, but as a…
