Light Up the Night with Glow-in-the-Dark Succulents

Scared to sleep in the dark, but don’t want to leave the lights blaring all night?  That’s where glow-in-the-dark succulents from Aldi come in. These spooky plants are the best solution if you have grown out of the glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling phase.  On top of being kind to your wallet, they are also environmentally-friendly. The ultimate nightlights, as well as a cool decoration.

These plants got the name “Glowing Star in the Dark” due to their star-like shape.  In the daytime, they will exhibit an almost powdery white color. During the nighttime is when they really shine, emitting a neon green.

    How Do They Glow?

In order to get their nocturnal glow, Aldi applied coats of a special, non-toxic compound during the cultivation process.  This allows the plant to store energy from either sunlight or artificial light and radiate its glow well after the sun goes down and the lights turn off.

The best part is that you don’t have to worry about the glow fading because of the coats being applied during their growing period.

    Care of Succulents

Like any other succulent, these glow-in-the-dark ones are able to withstand dry heat and minimal water.  And they would light up the garden beautifully. However, once the temperatures start to drop, it is recommended that you move them inside.

    Watch them in action:

If you know of someone who’s birthday is coming up, these make amazing gifts. They are the perfect nightlights and add a natural feel to any room. Heck, I am just going to get one for myself because they are so cool.

These cool succulents can only be found in select Aldi stores and are in limited stock, so you’d better check ahead of time before rushing off to the store.  You can also find them on Amazon.

What do you think of these succulents?  Would you get one? Let us know in the comments!
