Bleecker Street’s upcoming Gothic horror-thriller, Victorian Psycho, has just gotten a second blood-soaked trailer. Based on Virginia Feito’s 2025 bestselling novel of the same name, the movie stars Maika Monroe (Longlegs) as the world’s worst nanny.

Set in 1858, a young governess, Winifred Notty (Monroe), arrives at the remote gothic manor. As she starts to settle in around the house, the staff begin to disappear. The owners can’t help but wonder if there is something deeply wrong with their new governess.
The first trailer had Winifred lecturing for over a minute about the nature of evil to some very confused children. Over her narration, we see a montage of generally bat-shit insane things. Shots of Winifred making weird faces or screaming, and some neck licking, with the occasional tease of a weapon followed by blood splatter.
This second trailer is only a few seconds longer but has way more carnage. This time Winnifred is bragging about how sane she is while on her way to her new job as a governess. (Because nothing says “I’m not crazy” like repeatedly bragging about being sane.) We see her meet the children for the first time, and it’s already clear that something is…off. Then the narration switches to her talking about succumbing to darkness, while we see more scenes of her going insane and killing people.
Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho), Jacobi Jupe (Hamnet), and Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus) also star. Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary) directs from a screenplay adapted by Feito. It is produced by Sébastien Raybaud for Anton and Wigon and Dan Kagan. Executive producers include Feito, Nick Shumaker, and Bard Dorros.
Victorian Psycho hits theaters nationwide on September 25. You can check out the second trailer below:
