Neon’s much-anticipated It Follows sequel, They Follow, has just added 10 new cast members. David Robert Mitchell (Under the Silver Lake) will return to both write and direct the upcoming horror film. Alongside Maika Monroe (Victorian Psycho), who is reprising her leading role from the first film.

Monroe will star alongside the newly added Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children), Justine Lupe (Succession), Anna Mirodin (Ivan), Jayne Taini (Unbelievable), Michael Gandolfini (Daredevil: Born Again), Tom Pecinka (Stereophonic), Melora Walters (Magnolia), Ben Krieger (Song Sung Blue), Natalie Shinnick (The Brutalist), and Jan Hoag (The Fabelmans). As well as the previously announced I Love Boosters star Naomi Ackie.
Plot details are still under wraps. However, we do know it will take place a decade after the events of the original 2015 film.
It Follows is a psychological horror film centered around Jay Height (Monroe), a college student. After a sexual encounter one night, she becomes the target of an unstoppable supernatural entity. This entity stalks he by taking the form of random people who chase her and her friends through their Detroit town. The only way to break the curse and stop the violent rampage towards her is to have sex with someone else and pass the curse along.
David Robert Mitchell will be returning for They Follow to write, direct, and produce. Harvest Hill Entertainment’s Jake Weiner, Good Fear Content’s Chris Bender, Northern Light Media Ventures’ Erik Rommesmo, and FirstGen Content’s Mike D’Alto & Randal Sandler also produce. Curious Gremlin’s Scott Aharoni and Sinan Eczacıbaşı, Kaplan Morrison’s David Kaplan, Rebecca Green, and Laura Smith produce as well.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about They Follow as the project develops.
