“Battlefront II” Developers, “Andor” Actor Behind “Battlefront III”

In 2015, EA rebooted the “Star Wars Battlefront” series, which did well enough to justify a follow-up in 2017. Its sequel was considered a much better game, sans its reliance on micro-transactions. (An issue EA eventually corrected with a Celebration Edition that gave players access to every piece of previously paywalled content.)

Recently, and despite EA no longer supporting the game, “Battlefront II” has seen a huge spike in popularity. The spike is believed to be a mix of excitement around the “Star Wars” holiday, May the 4th, and Disney+’s hit show “Andor.” This hype is also adding to fan demand for a third installment of the game. Something that may come to fruition given that “Battlefront III” has already been pitched and worked on to some (admittedly minor) degree.

    Developer Support

Adeveloper for “Battlefront II” says their colleagues are game for a 3rd installment. When a Reddit user asked what dev said, there would be another game. “Me, and having heard around my group of ex-colleagues, we want to get the gang back together,” producer Mats Helge Holm responded. “I don’t expect battlefront 3 to be announced at the end of this rally. But overall, yeah, I think there are people who are talking about it,” Holm added.

He did say “if they reached out, I would definitely be under NDA and could not keep you updated at all :p” before confirming that “Noone has reached out.”

    “Andor” Support

“Andor” actor Muhannad Ben Amor is also down for “Battlefront III,” having logged an impressive 469 hours on the previous game.

“Star Wars gotta give us Battlefront 3 ASAP,” Amor wrote on an Instagram Story (via Comicbook). “Grew up with Battlefront 2 — been a veteran since day one. Let’s HOPE Battlefront 3 happens.”

We all know that fan love isn’t enough to get projects made, if so, we’d have “Firefly” season 2. But having developers for the franchise backing the game alongside prominent “Star Wars” actors can’t hurt.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Battlefront III” if/when they become available.
