“The Office” Spinoff “The Paper” Gets Fall 2025 Release

Well, it’s official. Over the last year we’ve been getting a drip feed of information regarding the successor to one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time. “The Office” has arguably only gained in popularity since it wrapped in 2013; popularity that has inspired a spin-off to be made. Now, that spin-off has a title and will be premiering later this year.

    “The Paper” – NBC/Universal

Last year we got a pretty substantial update on what this spin-off would be about, it would be set in the mid-western United States and focus on a newspaper. Then, a few months ago, the bombshell was dropped that Oscar Nunez would be reprising his role of Oscar Martinez for the upcoming spin-off. We knew he’d be joining up with Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, but we didn’t know if there would be any carry over from the previous show. So, we’ll have to see how Oscar’s life has changed.

    “The Office” – NBC/Universal

The original creator of the U.S. version of “The Office” Greg Daniels didn’t change much with the title. Swap “office” to “paper,” and we’re all good to go. The documentary team from “The Office” has been looking for a new subject to film about, and they find it in Toledo, Ohio. The crew will be following the staff of “The Truth Teller,” a Toledo paper that was recently purchased by a publisher who wants to try and revive it. (Also fun fact- many of the same crew from the original series are back for this one!)

This is easily one of the most anticipated television releases in recent history, but it has large footsteps to follow in. We’ll see what happens as the misadventures of ‘The Truth Teller” gets the full mockumentary treatment later this year.

The series is set to premiere on Peacock this fall.
