Pennsylvania Family’s Goldendoodle Eats $4,000 Cash

A Pennsylvania couple was left in shock by the actions of their Goldendoodle, Cecil, after he ate $4,000 in cash. Cecil is normally a well mannered pooch, who had previously “never done anything bad in his life.” That all changed with his expensive meal on Friday, December 29th, 2023.

Cecil’s owners Carrie and Clayton Law could hardly believe their dog would eat the cash, the good boy doesn’t even beg for table scraps. “Suddenly Clayton yelled to me, ‘Cecil’s eating $4,000!’ I thought, ‘I cannot be hearing that.’ I almost had a heart attack,” Carrie recalled. Clayton had brough the cash home that day to pay for some workers mending their fence. He left the money on the counter, only to come back to the money in shreds.

Though properly horrified, the couple sprang into action and salvaged the cash Cecil hadn’t eaten. Unfortunately they would later sift through Cecil’s “leavings” and clean the scraps he did eat. That evening Cecil would throw up $100 and over the next few days he would expel even more. The Laws were about to recover $3,350, which needed some thorough cleaning. This isn’t the money laundering we were expecting to hear about this year.

“There we are at the utility sink washing this s***** money, yelling ‘Yay! Yes! We got one! It smelled so bad.” Carrie uploaded a video to her Instagram account, documenting the ordeal for all to see. Thankfully the Bank was understanding and assured them that incidents “happen all the time.” The bank is able to replace bills that are over 50% intact, or have intact serial numbers.

The Law couple have decided to turn the remaining scraps into a new artistic project. The project is described as their “most expensive piece of art.” Cecil is back to being their lovable good boy and will feature in the artwork.
