AMC’s “The Walking Dead” spinoffs “Daryl Dixon” and “The Ones Who Live,” along with “Interview with the Vampire,” are set to resume production. The network has reached interim agreements with SAG-AFTRA, so performers will not be in violation of the ongoing strike.

There are no specifics on what these deals entail, but we do know this is not a blanket agreement. So each series will resume production under different agreements. AMC is also what’s known as an authorized company in regard to the AMPTP. Therefore, it is not among the studios currently involved in the negotiations.

This marks the most significant television properties to come to an agreement since the SAG-AFTRA strike began. The handful of other series that have struck deals to continue production include, the faith-based show “The Chosen.” Apple TV+’s “Tehran,” which is allowed due to being international and originally airing in Israel. Indie show “Hal and Harper,” starring Lili Reinhart and Mark Ruffalo has also been able to strike an agreement.

Norman Reedus (Daryl), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Melissa McBride (Carol), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan)

Currently, it’s believed that “Interview with the Vampire” will resume filming its second season in Prague. “Daryl Dixon” will still shoot its second season in Europe. While “The Ones Who Live,” is working on post-production including things like ADR.

“We greatly value the work of our creative partners and hope these disputes can be resolved as quickly and fairly as possible,” AMC Networks CEO Kristin Dolan said on the company’s second-quarter earnings call. “In the short term, the reality for AMC Networks is that we have a pipeline of finished shows that will allow us to continue to serve our viewers across all of our platforms for the remainder of this year and well into 2024.”

The first season of “Daryl Dixon” starring Norman Reedus will hit AMC on September 10th. “The Ones Who Live” starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira is slated to premiere in 2024. “Interview with the Vampire” was originally slated for early to mid-2024, but due to the pause in production, that may no longer be accurate.

We’ll keep you posted on news about “The Walking Dead” spinoffs and “Interview with the Vampire” as it develops.
