One of the stars of the upcoming X-Files reboot has confirmed that the pilot episode has finished filming. Himesh Patel (Station Eleven), who will co-star alongside Danielle Deadwyler (The Woman in the Yard), confirmed that the Ryan Coogler (Sinners) written and- directed episode has wrapped.

When asked how the new X-Files series will differ from the original. “I don’t want to say anything that’s going to get me disappeared,” Patel told The Direct. “Needless to say, myself and Danielle Deadwyler are playing completely new characters, and we just wrapped on the pilot. If we get to do more… we’ll see where we go from there.”
The show’s bare-bones ideas will stay the same, but this is not the cut-and-paste of Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) that most were expecting.
Now this isn’t to say we’ll get a full series just yet. Hulu only issued a pilot order; that episode will determine if a full series is ordered or not.
If more episodes come to fruition, they will follow two highly decorated but different FBI agents who form an unlikely bond once they take over a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about the X-Files reboot as the project develops.
