Dept of Wildlife Needs Your Help to Name Boss’s Baby ‘Armadillo’

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation needs some help. Apparently, if they get 1 million likes on a single tweet, their boss will name her baby, “Armadillo.” The post has already amassed 127.5K likes in just under 24 hours, making this the second post from the department to go viral.

If this gets 1M likes our boss will let us name her baby “Armadillo.”
    Twitter do your thing ?

“I’m traveling today to Beaver Bend for another project, so we were hoping to post something quick that wouldn’t generate a lot of questions or need to be monitored,” said the department’s social media coordinator, Sarah Southerland with a laugh. “That was not the case.”

Kelly Adams, Communication and Education Supervisor, approves all posts before they go live. She is also the pregnant boss in question, and is expecting a son. According to Southerland, Adams was well aware of the tweet and wager before the public saw it.

“Her husband planned ahead and asked us not to make anything legally binding,” Southerland said. “We thought it was ridiculous that wasn’t going to get traction, but here we are.” He also got in on the joke tweeting “I do not condone this contest!” He was then swiftly informed that this is Twitter and he has no power here.

We’d just like to say congratulations on the new baby to Armadillo’s dad ?☺️?? https://t.co/BlUpQdXBfY pic.twitter.com/6ELpyxmhPG

Even other brands got in on the joke. Alienware predicts the baby will be a fantastic gamer someday. But Merriam-Webster took the cake by defining the word Armadillo and using that as a justification for the name!

The first post the department had go viral was a little under a month ago. When they changed their logo some eagle-eyed viewers pointed out that it kind of looks like a man with a beard in an orange hat. To which they responded asking for everyone to please stop pointing it out every single day. And that goes double for you PBS.

We hope to see pictures of a happy and healthy baby Armadillo soon!
