Marvel Announces: ‘Wolverine: The Lost Trail’ Podcast

It looks as if Marvel is exploring another medium for it’s comic book characters in the form of Podcast with its first release of Wolverine:The Long Night earlier this year on Stitcher Premium and other Podcast streaming platforms. Comicbook.com has reported that Marvel will be releasing a sequel to the first podcast with Wolverine: The Lost Trail.

Like the first season of the Wolverine podcast, the second season will run for ten episodes on Stitcher in January 2019 followed by a mass release later that year on other platforms.

With the first season The Long Night having followed two government agents hunting down Logan in a rural Alaskan town with more secrets and mysteries than most, Wolverine acted as a sort of background character through the entire season. What it sounds like this time around though for The Lost Trail is that Wolverine will be the main focal point of the series.

Here is the synopsis revealed by Marvel for the upcoming season:

“Marvel’s Wolverine: The Lost Trail is an epic quest that takes place in the Louisiana bayou. Following the events of Marvel’s Wolverine: The Long Night, Logan (Richard Armitage) returns to New Orleans in search of redemption, only to discover that his ex-lover, Maureen is nowhere to be found. And she’s not the only one. Dozens of humans and mutants have gone missing, including the mother of a teenage boy, Marcus Baptiste. With Weapon X in close pursuit, Logan and Marcus must team up and follow a trail of clues that leads them deep into the gothic heart of the bayou, where they encounter biker gangs, Cajun thieves and a world of wonders that defies explanation. It is here that they find Greenhaven — a backwater refuge run by a powerful mutant named Jason Wyngarde.”

Richard Armitage will return to reprise his role as Logan in the second season. Also joining the cast is Legion’s Bill Irwin as Jason Wyngarde, aka Mastermind, Bell Heck as Remy LeBeau, aka Gambit, and Blair Brown as Bonnie Roach.

Seeing the success of their first scripted podcast and the hype built up for the upcoming sequel to the first Wolverine podcast it will be interesting to see if any more Marvel characters enter this rendition to tell a story that may or may not be connected to the MCEU movies and Television shows.

Are you excited for the upcoming Podcast? What characters would you like to get their own podcast series? Let Nerdbot know in the comments below!
