When “The Lord of the Rings” fans first heard about a Gollum game, they were pretty excited. Thanks to a gameplay trailer from Daedalic Entertainment, they’re about to get even more hyped. The trailer teases how Gollum will explore Middle-earth in a time set right before “The Fellowship of the Ring.”

Andy Serkis will be reprising his role as Gollum for the game and it sounds amazing. If you loved his performance in “The Lord of the Rings” films, you’re going to love this game.

The story is driven by Gollum who is out searching for his “precious.” Bilbo Baggins has taken the ring and Gollum wants it back, obviously. You will search for it while trying to stay out of the clutches of the dark lord, Sauron. They say that you will see some familiar faces in the cast. There is also going to be a feature where you can choose which personality makes the decision, Gollum or Sméagol who he was before he was turned into a monster by the ring.

There is also another title coming out that will feature Dwarves called “The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.” Pair that with the upcoming Amazon Prime “The Rings of Power“ series, here’s just a lot of really cool LoTR projects going on right now.

Gollum will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on September 1st, 2022. There is also a Nintendo Switch version planned but that will be released at a later date.
