Kate Spade’s Flower Bucket Bag Goes Viral For The Wrong Reason

Fashion is art, and art is highly subjective. That being said, American fashion house Kate Spade New York has just released a new purse with a questionable design. The brand revealed a new flower design for its bucket bag line that looks like a cute flower when closed.

However, when opened, this purse would make even Georgia O’Keeffe blush.

Yes, when unzipped, the way the mock petals in the bag give way to display an inner compartment. The whole thing looks a lot like a vagina. Of course, the internet, being full of adult-sized 12-year-olds (this writer included), quickly jumped on this vaguely obscene marketing.

And we have to assume this was somewhat intentional on Kate Spade New York’s part. Considering that the bulk of the product photography has the bag closed. It only comes in 4 colors: black, lime slice, dark scarlet, and… cream, and each color option only has one shot of it open.

Those open shots were what was chosen to post to social media. It’s kind of hard to believe that in 2026, a brand didn’t realize that this was going to garner a lot of attention from smart asses (this writer included).

The post comments section quickly filled with jokes about how this would be more suited for Victoria’s Secret. Many women commented that the bag is man-proof since they would never be able to find the zipper. Some posters even suggested a demogorgon instead of genitalia, and we commend those who can stay innocent on the internet.
