Those who knew and worked with the late Catherine O’Hara have begun posting tributes to the comedy great. She passed away suddenly on Friday, January 30th, with no immediate cause of death. Reactions and outpourings of love, support, and memories quickly followed.

Macaulay Culkin, who played O’Hara’s onscreen son in two “Home Alone” films, shared a brief but heartfelt statement about her passing.

“I am devastated. We have lost one of the comic giants of our age. I send my love to her family,” Christopher Guest, co-star in several comedies, said. “Catherine’s knowledge of humanity was always at the center of her comedy, no matter how absurd the character or loopy the material. She could play heartless because she was warm, brainless because she was brilliant, careless because she truly cared. Everyone loved her and everyone learned from her. This is a deep loss.”

“Really don’t know what to say… I told O’Hara when I first met her I thought she was the funniest person I’d ever had the pleasure of watching on screen,” The Studio” creator and co-star Seth Rogen said. “Home Alone was the movie that made me want to make movies. Getting to work with her was a true honour. She was hysterical, kind, intuitive, generous… she made me want to make our show good enough to be worthy of her presence in it. This is just devastating. We’re all lucky we got to live in a world with her in it.”

Though she be but little, she is fierce.
