Tom Holland Says “Spider-Man 4” is ‘Definitely Happening’

It has been over two years since “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was released in theaters. Since then, there has been speculation about a 4th installment. The story definitely left it open for another film, but Marvel Studios and Sony haven’t said anything about a fourth film. Well, we have some good news for Spidey fans that comes from the current man playing the web-slinger.

Tom Holland has offered an update on “Spider-Man 4,” and says it’ll happen. Holland spoke about his eagerness to return as Peter Parker with Deadline. “The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do ‘Spider-Man‘ films. I owe my life and career to ‘Spider-Man‘. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more.” Honestly, who wouldn’t want to see Holland come back for another “Spider-Man?”

“We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect,” Holland said. “The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.” We absolutely love that the team behind this fourth movie is wanting to flush out the details before moving forward. There is nothing more disappointing than a project you’ve been looking forward to coming out as a rushed hot mess.

“This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early. It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things,” he added. Considering that Holland has previously been given different versions of the script for Marvel projects, this says A LOT.

So, What Would “Spider-Man 4” Be About?

At this time, all we know is that the film will happen. There is no set writer, director, or release date for the project. We don’t even know if Emmy-winner Zendaya (“Dune,” “Euphoria“), or Jacob Batalon (“Reginald the Vampire“) will return as MJ and Ned. Personally, it feels like a crime if they aren’t included in the new project.

Previously, Holland said he would only come back to the franchise “if it’s worth while.” With him saying a fourth film is happening, and being involved this early, we’re inclined to believe this is worth while. There is so much potential going forward, and we can’t wait to see it.

We will be following this story and will report when more information becomes available.
