Netflix’s animated show “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous” is getting a sequel series, “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.” The streamer just released the first trailer and it looks as action-packed as the original series. This is despite the loss of one core cast member, Brooklynn, voiced by Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday“).

“Camp Cretaceous,” tells the story of dinosaur fanatic Darius Bowman (Paul-Mikél Williams) who is staying at the camp. Like any entry into the “Jurassic Park” franchise, the dinosaurs eventually get loose. This leads to him needing to band together with five other teens to survive the overgrown reptiles wreaking havoc on the island. “Chaos Theory,” will bring back most of these characters a few years into the future. Older and wiser from their stint as teenage dinosaur fighters.

    Cast

The returning cast includes Williams (“The Girl Who Believes in Miracles”) as Darius, Sean Giambrone (“The Goldbergs”) as Ben, Kausar Mohammed (“East of La Brea”)as Yasmina, and Raini Rodriguez (“Paul Blart: Mall Cop”) as Sammy. However, there will be at least one new voices amount the cast. The role of Kenji will now be done by Darren Barnet (“Never Have I Ever”) taking over for Ryan Potter (“Titans”).

“Chaos Theory,” takes place after the park has shut its doors. The trailer opens with Brooklynn seemingly being killed by a dinosaur. Ben theorizes that this was a targeted attack, meaning that the rest of the crew, calling themselves the Nublar Six, are now in danger.

Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley will executive produce the upcoming series and serve as showrunners. Steven Spielberg, “Jurassic World” franchise director Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall will also executive produce. Universal Pictures and Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment will produce.

“Jurassic World: Chaos Theory,” will hit Netflix sometime in 2024. We’ll keep you posted on updates about this series as they become available. You can check out the trailer below:
